Ok, thanks. I may try to set it up on my second bike. If it still doesn't get aligned on that bike  without dropping the chain, then I may put up the Wheeltop groupset for sale on the second hand market

I put a protecting soft sticker between FD and frame, because FD touches the frame.

Thanks, I might try that. Have you had experience with other groupsets that have the same problem? Or is it just Wheeltop? How about the FDs of Shimano, Sram, etc?

Has anyone else had some problems with aligning a Wheeltop EDS TX's front derailleur with the braze on? It seems as if no matter what I do, even adjusting the small screw behind the FD, it can never be parallel with the frame

Hi all,

I just got my Wheeltop EDS TX and I have to ask: Is the mounting screw of the rear derailleur really that squeaky? Like nails to a chalkboard when tightening the screw to the mech hanger? Anyone else?

I have gotten in touch with LightCarbon but no response yet so far. Will update...

UPDATE:

I spoke to Jim of LightCarbon about this and he reassured me that this is resin overflow which is a surface defect and not a crack. He kindly explained that there is resin overflow when the mold is taken out, and that the innermost layer of carbon fiber is for fixing and has no strength support requirements. Finally, Jim also assured me that this will not affect the strength of the frame.

I received mine and I thought it was all good, until I noticed a small crack around the drain hole at the bottom which is only somewhat visible from the drive side. From the outside, it looks pristine. The first photo is taken from the non drive side. It isn't obvious. The second photo is the drive side. Here, it's obvious. The third photo is the from the external perspective.

Hi all,

After all of the reviews and taking a look at it, I pulled the trigger and ordered a size 54 LCR017-D (I am 5'10", and shoulders are exactly 40cm). Jim from LightCarbon was really helpful. I ordered it with a 100*90mm fork but since it's out of stock I have to wait 7-10 days, which is fine. I chose to do UD Matte finish and no logos. Will update everyone once I receive it.
