« on: July 23, 2026, 11:43:49 AM »I always tighten screws by feel, and never ran into a problem doing so. The seat post clamping mechanism works great, I changed the original seat post (which I really liked, but it's a bit to short for my saddle hight) against a Elita One post and forgot to pack carbon paste when leaving for the Balkans, and it does not slip despite there's no carbon assembly paste at all.
Turns out Mondince sent me the torque for the saddle clamp. I clarified I was asking about the seatpost clamp and they told me 6Nm for the set screws.

Good to hear Goldix has a good customer service.
If you seach for information about the Goldix R180 ultra hub, the AI tells you that it is prone to rachted failure. This was why I stared this thread.
With my sub 1000 grams wheel set build on hold ATM, I would tend to buy the Goldix R180 SL which are just slightly more heavy, but seem to be much more reliable with a different rachtet system and bigger bearings.

Go 2x and you'll have no gearing issues IMHO. Plus better chain line, less cross shifting.
I'll put my FM336 on a Balkan bikepacking tour starting end of next week. Will report back.

These are the provided head set bearings. I paired them with a Riro stem and it works fine.

IMHO DSF Carbon offers the biggest bang for the buck ATM. I've talked to them and they respond very fast.
I have put my sub 1,000 grams Wheelset on a hold, but plan to get back to it in a bit.

« on: July 01, 2026, 01:47:44 AM »I mounted 50mm tires and there is definitely enough clearance for at least 55mm.You run a 1x drive train. Do you think 55mm tires would work woth 2x drive train, or would clearance be an issue around the front derailleur?

« on: July 01, 2026, 01:44:19 AM »Myself and a friend have bought from Waltly, both very happy.If you went with custom geometry from Waltly, those frames are traditionally welded and don't use 3D-printed lugs, correct? Otherwise, they’d have to print custom lugs for every unique geometry. Waltly told me that they can do it, but it’s pretty pricey.
I got them to create something similar to a frame I had seen, my friend paid a smallish fee to a bike fitter/builder to help him design and spec a very personalised design and fit. The bike fitter/mechanic has built a few Waltly bikes, he gave them high praise.

« on: June 30, 2026, 02:09:03 AM »I just have a small issue with the magnetic downtube storage cover, as it comes off really easily, it came off with 0,5 l bottle when hitting a small bump at moderate speed. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem?So far, I've more or less just used my FM366 as an all-road/endurance bike, clocking 1,200 km in two weeks, including a 600 km brevet and a 300 km ride from Berlin to the Brocken. The storage cover sits rock-solid in the frame. Even with a big 800 ml bottle, it stays where it should on rough pavé. Longer gravel/off-road rides are soon to come.

Nothing that affects function, just something to listen for before you assume your indexing is off. The Connex link hubba mentioned avoids this entirely, but they cost about 4x what a YBN costs and for waxed chain rotation that adds up fast.Good to know! That's just true for 12 speed, or also 11 speed?
