The specs are lost in the sands of time (at least 12 years old) - it's generic open mould. HT angle is 72, don't even know what the rake on the fork is. Handling is fine except for how the front end feels out of the saddle. Even my modern long travel MTB feels lighter on the front end w/ a circa 68 degree HT angle and short stem. I'm confident the handling on the XMCS will be good, especially if I keep stem length down to 110

Requiem - what length stem are you running on your GRT? And a very subjective question - how do you find the front end handling, compared to your VRT? My old gravel bike with a 120 stem steers like a truck, like it's got WAY too much trail. Just stiff and unresponsive. I"m not looking for a crit bike, but want to make sure I don't duplicate the heavy steering.

The XMCS logo is very similar to the ENVE logo, which seems not to generate so much hate. If you rotated it down to the bottom of the down tube, closer to the BB, it might be more palatable. Though ENVE might get worked up about it.

Hands and weight over the front axle = more grip for the front tyre. If you're a Hubbard then I can imagine being worried about 'endo'ing a bike, but this is an aero racing frame?

Cliffs: have raced ews, there is no need for short stems for gravel.

Because the slacker headtube angle and more trail in gravel bikes already slows the steering / makes it more stable. If you combine that with long stem it might start to feel lazy / unresponsive.

It's not only that. Longer stem puts your hands further over the front axle, so it's easier to endo the bike in rocky/rough/steep terrain. And when you are pulling on the bars to lift the front end over rocks/logs, the long stem pushes the bars further to one side when there's a slight asymmetry to the handlebar pull. Which really amplifies the  amount the wheel turns off center. First time I did that on my 130mm stem gravel bike, I almost turned the wheel to 90 degrees while it was in the air, barely got it straight enough before the wheel came down. And I spend a lot of time riding MTBs in really hairy technical terrain.

We’re finetuning a few very small things, so there won’t be any real geo changes.

I get everyone is trying to exercise some influence on geo snd features, but you’ll simply have to wait a week or so and you’ll get the bike XMCS wanted to design, taking into account many different perspectives. Just as an example, another guy asked to make sure the bike was long and low because ‘otherwise it wouldn’t be a success’.

We get bombed with opinions, and they are often 180 degrees apart.

As for the 3t, it has a STR of 1.53 in size L (eTT of 552) which is on the very extreme end for aero gravel bikes. The STR range for these sizes are from 1.40 (Astr, Able, Noah) to about 1.48 (ExAero, Rave). In the comparable size the xmcs will just be a bit below the average.

I’ll shut my mouth here and will ask you all to simply wait a little bit longer and then decide if this is the bike for you or not.

All that said, it's pretty easy to use a shorter stem and spacers, rather than trying to fit a negative rise super long stem to make up for fit shortcomings.
