Just completed my build. I had a 105 Di2 groupset left over after upgrading my road bike to Ultegra, so I figured I had to do something with it.

The front derailleur mount is misplaced, at least on the size S frame, it sits far too low. I had to switch to a 50/34 setup, even though my original plan was to run 52/36. I also had to file down the mount slightly to get enough clearance for the derailleur movement.

I’m running elitewheels aero grvl wheelset (32mm internal) with a pair of Hutchinson caracal race tlr 45mm

Hi!

I’m currently in the process of building up my bike. I’ve got almost everything set up, the only thing left is the front derailleur.
I’m trying to run an R7100 Di2 front derailleur with a 52/36 chainring, however I can’t seem to mount it high enough using the included front derailleur hanger.
Does anyone have experience running this frame with a 2x setup? Is a 50T chainring the maximum, or maybe even smaller?

Most gravel frames are native 140mm at the rear, so if you want to run 160mm rotors you definitely need an adapter. Shimano doesn't include it in the box because it depends on the rotor size you choose.

The part you need is the adapter. You can find it here:

One thing to check: make sure the frame comes with the mounting bolts, otherwise you'll need to buy them separately based on the thickness of your chainstay.

Thanks for the reply! I’ll make sure to get one of those.

Now I’m just hoping the front derailleur will fit and won’t limit the tire clearance, but I guess I’ll find that out soon enough  :)

Hello,

I’ve just placed an order for the gravel frame  ;D

I have a question regarding the rear caliper mount. I’m planning to run 160 mm rotors both front and rear. For the front, I assume I’ll use the 160/180 adapter bracket—but how does it work for the rear?
The groupset (Shimano R7170) didn’t include a rear caliper adapter. Can the caliper be mounted directly to the frame, or do I need to use an adapter such as SM-MA-R160D/D-B?

I’m trying to have everything ready before the frame arrives so I can get out on the gravel as soon as possible  ;)
