Currently riding a Dengu m06

For my next build which would be a superlight XC bike the CS-218 would be perfect ! (and these wheels ofc)

You seem to run a somewhat long stem. What's the stem length, frame size and your height? I'd like to compare other people setups with my own.

Stem is a Syntace F109 90mm, 21" frame and im 187 cm tall. I prefer a long reach so I can get into a nice aero position for long distances races which typically (sadly) has alot of gravel roads.

So an update on the frame/bike.  I tried it with a 130mm fox fork but didnt like it when riding fast cross-country tracks, its too light upfront making it over-steer and loosing traction easy. So I went back to my 100mm SID XX. Also changed the Next SL cranks (they had started to delaminate) and basially the whole drivetrain to Sram GX except rear deraullier and shifter (still XX1) . Been playing around with the front/rear suspension settings alot and finally feel that its tuned as I want it, using the whole travel if needed but firm enough to pedal well without locking. Changed the tires from Rocket Ron to Maxxis Ikon 3C EXO 2.9 * 2-2 since the Rocket Rons  sidewalls are way to fragile for my rocky trails.  Had some issues with a creaking BB (I thought) and after removing and reinstalling it I finally realized it was actually where the seat connected to the seatpost that made the noise!

Been riding many many hours on the bike and I really love it, best bike I had. Handling is superb and its fast as any hardtail on the flats!

Seems like your turning an XC  Bike into a trail. Not sure it was designed for big jumps. But I remember someone mentioning their plus bike is the same frame with different chainstays. Keep us posted

I wont be riding harder nor do any big jumps with it, just curious how it affects the overall performance/feel of the bike on the mix of very technical trails with alot of climb/ascent to pure gravel/XC, perhaps its a no brainer once I tried. Got some segments im doing often so it will be easy to measure the difference.

Doing some research the current Rockshox SID XX 100mm 29 has an AC (axel to crown) measurement of 526mm

I'm not sure where you are getting 526mm for that fork.  From what I've read, it is closer to 506mm.

Thats correct, measured my fork to be sure, got the 526mm from first best google hit :) thx

How do you find the handling/change of geometry with your 120mm fork or does it just feel as great as it looks :)
No complaints from me about handling, with 530 axle to crown, 2cm of spacers and flat bar the bike feels very stable. During several rides with slammed stem it became more responsive, akin to my previous 26" hardtail (almost same reach/stack) which I liked too. In case you want more saddle to bar drop, there's a lot of places to shave stack off left (reversed riser bar, -17/20 degree stem, reducing travel). Take what I say with a grain of salt, as I'm not that experienced of rider to notice small handling or geometry changes.

I asked Deng Fu and they replied the frame is specs for 100-110mm travel so Im abit concerd how a longer fork would affect geometry but also headset stress even though the headset angle wouldnt be affected much according to my calculations.
Given my previous experience with open mold dealers, support personell (Melodies, Jennies and so on) know shit about actual frames sans what instructions say. Several centimeters are nothing to bother about, just like you said even same travel forks from different manufacturers can vary that much, add travel adjustment to equation and you pretty much get into very vague limits of what frame can handle.

If you want to try more travel, I'd get my hands on adjustable fork in desired travel range and try out what's best for you by riding it in different setups.

Great info! And just my thought about the frame durability. Getting a 2nd hand Fox 130mm travel next week that I will try on the bike.

Im thinking of putting a 120-130mm front fork on mine instead of the 100mm SID im running now since im riding way more techinal trails at the moment, and tend to use my CX/Gravelbike for anything else. How do you find the handling/change of geometry with your 120mm fork or does it just feel as great as it looks :) I asked Deng Fu and they replied the frame is specs for 100-110mm travel so Im abit concerd how a longer fork would affect geometry but also headset stress even though the headset angle wouldnt be affected much according to my calculations.

Doing some research the current Rockshox SID XX 100mm 29 has an AC (axel to crown) measurement of 526mm and the Fox 32 130mm 29" has 530.8mm, so the difference is in reality only 4 mm between the forks AC. I checked the Manitou Mattoc Pro 120mm and it has 531mm AC, so just abit more then the Fox.

I cant see how more travel without a much longer AC measurement would put more stress on the frame then running a 100/110mm of any brand, or do I miss something here with the longer stroke etc ?

Btw anyone tried running 120/130mm front fork on the m06 ? Got the option to buy a very nicly priced 2nd hand 130mm fox fork.

Got the missing parts yesterday and installed the new gpx bottom bracket and gx crankarms. Also changed the damper insert which was broken to a SID RL one with remote. Unfortunalty the insert came without the actual remote lever and cable but I did have a manitou remote lying around and it pulled the same amount of cable so I used that :)

Let's hope it wont that long :( I have sold the old bike so i need something pretty quick :)

At the moment it's on route to europe with 6-20 days shipping time . We will see :)

The shipping went fairlu fast for me, took around 7 days so you shouldnt need to wait too long.

It took about 4-5 days to get the frame to the paint shop. So i gues it wasn't in stock and i had to be produced.
Another 5 days for painting and then it was shipped.

Nice! Mine took 2 month from order to door ;)

Sounds like a nice build ! Really happy with my m06 (although its standing sad in the garage waiting for new crank and shock spareparts)

Btw, did you get any information if the frame was in stock and ready for paint or if it will be produced ?

Bike is somewhat on hold, non-driveside crankarm decided to give up (RaceFace Next SL), it seems the crankarm has delaminated from the axel..seems like a common issue on these 600$ cranks..good thing mine where 2nd hand and from 2014...SO i decided to replace the whole crank with something more durable, I never liked the Raceface bottombracket quality, they wear out quick. Ordered some reliable SRAM GX-1400 cranks with a 32T chainring (Already replaced the XX1 chain and cassett wwith GX components) and a Truvalvi GXP bottom bracket so now Im just waiting for it to arrive to be able to ride some more :) Im also thinking of replacing the 2014 SID XX 100mm fork with a 120mm FOX fork..i tested my brothers bike which has the new fox 34 rythm and man what a difference! but not sure yet.
