The P Zero SLR 28c measure 31.7mm on the 26-33 rims. An allen key of 8mm just fits between chain stay and tire. 8.5mm does not fit without rubbing. So 8mm it is with a +-32mm WAM tires.

Recaculating this:

35mm WAM => 6.5mm clearance
38mm WAM => 5.0mm clearance
40mm WAM => 4.0mm clearance.
42mm WAM => 3.0mm clearance
44mm WAM => 2.0mm clearance

A 40c tire (e.g Caracal Race) will blow up to 42-44 WAM on a 26i rim. That will not be a good idea. A 35c, WAM 38 will work OK imo.

Derailler space for 2x can’t replicate yet (can next month as we have a 2x GT customer build coming in. I did measure the space between the derailler mounting holes and the tire: about 3cm. Feels to me like there will be room for 2x with 38WAM.

I'm wondering if this is the bike that Joe has mentioned on the Nero show that he's been riding and should be revealed at the beginning of next month as they showed it in the brol, looks intriguing.

Peter has not yet given me the green light to post the actual full PDF report. Hence why I included just screenshots from that document in the video along with my Word notes. He also had no input on what I chose to share.

Nothing nefarious. I have not gotten the impression I was being asked to cherry pick only the "good" aspects of the report. I did spend a fair bit of time combing through the report, but really the only way to resolve this is by making the report public. Especially since the VRT will be discussed on Nero Show next week.

The main takeaway is the VRT design is aerodynamically sound versus a couple of other popular frames, as mentioned above. And I don't think making purchasing decisions based on a couple of watt difference is a smart idea. I still struggle personally to setup my VRT fit-wise which is far more important than any aerodynamic claims.

Patty how do yo feel about the carbon spoked XMCS wheels? In your er One update video you mentioned that after switching from carbon spoked wheels to steel spokes, you enyojed the ride quality much more. I am strongly considering the VRT frame and I am torn about the wheels as I am not sold on the carbon spokes either but XMCS do not offer steel spoked wheels with large enough internal width. I am therefore contemplating whether to stick with XMCS wheels or find a steel spoke wheelset elsewhere. Have you perhaps tested the VRT with a steel spoke wheelset to be able to compare? Any input would be appreciated, thanks!
