Cyclocross Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: SPCycle G028 new gravel frame with 57mm tires clearance
« on: August 06, 2026, 11:23:49 AM »nice build! would a 2.35 fit in the rear? I only tried with 2.1 Thunderburts (WAM 55mm on 27mm internal rims) and there is still a good amount of clearance.
Honestly, I'm not entirely sure if it's possible. If it does fit, the clearance would be right on the absolute limit, maybe too tight to be safe.
To give you guys some context, mounted on my 32mm internal width rims:
The front tire (Maxxis Rekon Race 2.35") actually measures 62.6 mm.
The rear tire (Maxxis Ikon 2.20") actually measures 58.3 mm.
As you can see in the pictures, the 2.20" already leaves a somewhat tight gap at the chainstays. Putting a 2.35" there would add over 2mm to each side, leaving almost no room for mud or wheel flex under load.
