« on: June 19, 2026, 03:54:17 AM »A bit of a random question, but one that would really help me out: I have a frame (size M) on order and I slowly but surely getting all the parts together.I just built my bike up with SRAM force and you have to cut those to make them fit through the frame. The brake line with the olive didnt fit through the frame for me, I do not know about Shimano. To do it nicely you would always want to cut them to length, I never did until yesterday and it was really easy. Bleeding isn't totally necessary for me but I will soon just to be sure. For SRAM everything was included in the box except for hydraulic brake line cutter which I bought of ali.
For the brakes/shifters I am thinking of getting some GRX ST-RX820 which come in a "J-Kit" version which come with a pre-cut, pre-filled hydraulic brake line - this would be convenient because I don't have the tools for working on brake lines (yet).
Since I am trying to avoid trimming the brake lines, I'd like to make sure to order the right one - so if anyone has any recommendations for brake line length (especially the rear) please share - thanks!
