Early bird pricing isn't that uncommon, so maybe that + more than expected interest lead to a future price increase

Yes...but gull-wing handlebar very cool and me like. I already built a new bike this year so I won't be buying this, but I hope it turns out great because I love the look of it. If not, maybe some other chinese brand are working on something similar.
