How are you liking the Cinturatos?

Not that I have a ton of points of comparison, but the Cinturato gravel H in 45C had me embarrassingly overbiked on cat 1 and 2 gravel. Felt like riding a couch. Absolutely no issues with grip (obviously). What did surprise me about them is that they also felt significantly faster than my previous Gravelking SS+ in 38C on pavement. Shockingly quick!

i also have a litespeed flint gravel bike (titanium). 

Ok so my current bike is a GT grade comp which, even as far as gravel bikes go, has a hilariously long reach and wheelbase. And yes I would describe it as “sluggish”.

Seems like the GT Grade size M is 55mm longer wheelbase than your Litespeed in size L, which is 48mm longer in turn than the LCG072 in 56. lol. Huge difference. Similar story for chainstay length.

For reference I tried my friend’s Trek Domane (56) and it felt downright squirrelly compared to what I was used to, and I’m trying to triangulate how the LCG072 might feel on the spectrum of “boat-like gravel bike” to “Domane.” My impression is that the LCG072 will handle far closer to a road bike than the gravel bike I’m used to, or even than the Litespeed you’re used to, which I would consider a win for my application.

Any insight to offer there? Thanks in advance!

Their respective gravel versions (LCG072-D and XMCS GRT), aside from being very similar to the road models, have shorter seat tubes (520/490mm), which would look better aesthetically. However, they have quite different geometries, particularly regarding a higher stack/shorter reach, a more closed head tube angle, and longer chainstays... these features should make for a more stable and easier ride, though likely at the expense of the frame's responsiveness.

So, ultimately, I’m not sure if they would be the best choice for predominantly road use.

That said, the LCG072-D posted by Hambini and Jim looks amazing! Maybe even better than the LCR020-D and LCR018-D!

Hmm, so I’m looking at the geo charts and comparing the LCG072-D to the LCR018-D, in size L/560. They’re so similar. Single digit mm difference on stack/reach, head tube angle about 1 degree difference,  chain stay 5mm longer on the LCG and wheelbase  18mm longer on the LCG (that’s the most significant difference). So I’m not so sure that these would ride all that differently on tarmac unless I’m underestimating the difference a handful of millimeters here and there can make. Am I off base?

Would you go full GRX or since it's made for a lot of road (thus 2x) you would put a 105 (or other) fd + crankset ?

Maybe I just haven’t done enough research but it seems to me that there’s no real downside to a full GRX groupset on the road. It’s marginally heavier, though to make up for that difference I’d just make sure I pee before heading out  ;D.  On the other side, the FD affords more rear tire clearance, the RD gives you a clutch to prevent dropped chains on rough terrain (including cobblestones and potholes), and the hoods have superior ergonomics to 105 (imo). Maybe there’s something I’m missing but I figure I’d keep it simple and just go full GRX.

Yeah full agree. I was honestly quite fine with 38c because I was mostly planning on riding on paved roads and quite nice gravel roads (plenty of those in southern Sweden). But if I can buy pretty much the same bike but ALSO have the possibility to send it down some gnarlier stuff with huge tires... I mean it's a pretty easy call.

As an aside - don't know if I'm fooling myself but I swear the fork looks different than LCR018-D, cooler somehow (from the side).

Anyways, how are you planning on building it up?

Same here. 38C would get the job done for 99% of my riding around the New York City area.  A vast majority of my rides would be on our (relatively crappy) city streets, so ~35C tires would be ideal. Nearly all of the gravel around NYC would be fine on 38Cs with some tread. But there are a few routes a bit farther afield that would benefit from 45Cs, and I would hate to exclude myself from those rides if I don't have to. My current bike is an aluminum gravel bike (GT Grade Comp), so I can access those trails, but the geometry is so long and slack that it feels a bit like steering a boat on the road. This LCG072 seems to make no trade-offs in terms of geometry that would affect me on the vast majority of the courses I ride. Pretty compelling.

Anyway, I've already got two wheelsets... one Elitewheels Drive (gen 1) 50D running Conti GP5K 32C for road duty and one Elitewheels Marvel G35 running Pirelli Cinturato Gravel H 45C for gravel duty. Idea would be to build this frame up with a GRX 2x12 Di2 groupset, british racing green custom paint, with brown saddle & bar tape. I've always lusted after that color combo.

Also re: the fork, yeah I think it's a new design. I started a thread about this on the Chinese Carbon subreddit and someone mentioned that Lightcarbon did redesign the fork for even more clearance, but that's unverified info since few details about this frameset exist in the real world.

How would you build this one up?

Well this looks very very interesting... I have a full spreadsheet built up for the LCR018-D and was just getting ready to pull the trigger - but 50 mm clearance really speaks to me.

This seems like such an interesting frame to me because it's within single-digit millimeters of stack/reach of the LCR018-D, just with clearance for 50C tires. I'm wondering why someone would ever opt for the LCR018 when this one is nearly identical unless 1) whatever marginal weight savings really, really matter to you, or 2) you truly never plan to run tires wider than 35C or so... in which case why not look at a frame with even less tire clearance to maximize aero benefits?

As of right now, seems like this is the ideal N=1 bike for me...

Hi all, I'm on the market for a new frame and to me it's between the LCR018-D (endurance road) and this one. Main sticking point for me is that I want to be able to put 40C tires on my bike and I think that's a bit of a stretch for the LCR. That's putting me on to this frame here.

Can someone help me understand: the stack and reach of this LCG072 frame are within single-digit millimeters of the LCR018-D. That can't be right, can it? To me, the LCG seems like the LCR with a marginally more slack seat tube angle, a slightly more slack head tube angle, plus a 9mm higher BB and a few more MM on the chainstays. Like, it's really not very different. Main difference is tire clearance, supposedly up to 50mm based on this thread.

So I guess my (perhaps naive) question is: am I wrong? And if not, why would one buy the LCR over this one? I mean, I worry that my 32mm road tires would look weird in the cavernous front fork, but are there other compelling reasons to avoid this frame if most of my riding is on tarmac?

Yes, it’s not exactly new. We’ve known about it for probably 8 months or so.

Well new to me at least  :) … that’s pretty neat that they’re making a gravel frame that leans even more towards road geometry than the current trend. Now I just need to figure out whether 32C tires will look weird mounted to a frame with clearance for 50+  :-\ but I suppose that’s a discussion for another forum

They have an almost identical looking frame but with more tyre clearance for gravel, just buy that instead.

Hold up, which one? Is that the new aero gravel frame coming out?

Hi all, I’ve been lurking here and on Reddit, scouring for all the videos and posts about this frame that I can find. I’m wondering if anyone (who has not shared this already in this thread) would be willing to share tire clearance stats, for science?

I know the frame is rated for 38C. I’ve heard accounts of people being able to fit 40s on 23mm IW rims in the rear; I’ve also heard accounts of 35C tires being tight. I’m just looking for more data points here.

For context, I would really love to be able to run a pair of 40C gravel tires on this bike. I don’t need more than that for my area, but do need more than 35C. Do you think this frame would let me get away with gravel tires (gravelking X1?) at 40C or even 42C in the front, and 38C or 40C in the rear? I would get a GRX Di2 2x12 drive train for this bike for the few extra mm of clearance afforded by the front mech. I also have a set of Elitewheels Marvel G35s with 22mm IW for my gravel wheels.

Thanks in advance for insights, measurements and/or pics!
