Yes you can get 5, 10, 20 and 40mm spacers on AliExpress. These have 2 holes not like the 3 hole version from Velobuild.

I'm really not sure how it's supposed to sit. I've looked at around 30 owner photos, and most have some gap, but it's hard to tell how they compare to mine.

It would be nice to get a simple answer from Chris — yes, this is correct, or no, it's not, and they'll send the correct bearings/crown race.

Attached are measurements.

If you still have the link to the replacement bearings you bought from ASOS, could you post share pls? Or at least the correct bearing specification?

Yes I sent Chris a few messages. He said push harder but not possible. Have a look at the photos attached.

Hi all,

Just starting my build. First problem I've encountered is the headset bearing sitting too high above the black crown race. I was wondering if I was sent the wrong crown race. Has anyone had this problem?

Thanks

Hey folks! I finally built my TT-023, thanks in large part to this amazing thread.

I’m based in China, so I sourced everything locally and mostly Chinese-made, including WheelTop’s latest TT groupset. So far, it seems to be a pretty good deal.

I had my local bike shop handle the build, and the mechanic didn’t run into many issues. The only problem was that the seatpost kept slipping until I tightened it to 8 Nm, as recommended by Velobuild’s after-sales support.

I’ve only ridden it outdoors once because I mostly train on a smart trainer and the weather hasn’t been great. That one ride was awesome, though—the bike feels comfortable and stiff, and the data suggests it’s faster than my road bike with clip-on aero bars. Duh, of course!

I’ll be racing it in a long-course event at the end of this month. If anyone’s interested, I’ll hopefully report back afterward.

Below is my setup:
Component   Brand / Model   Price (converted to USD)
Frameset   VB TT 023   $932.03
Groupset   Wheeltop   $577.83
Crankset   105, 165 mm   $78.55
Chain   DA   $35.57
Cassette   UT, 11–30T   $38.24
Bottom Bracket   Token   $38.68
Wheelset   Exar DB607 Ultra(used)   $370.50
Brake Rotors   iiipro   $15.41
Tires   Power Cup   $91.88
Tubeless Valves & Sealant   Boostor & Giant   $14.38
Bar Tape  Boostor   $9.04
Saddle   Baluego(used)   $41.35
Bike Assembly   —   $207.48
Total      $2,450.93

Love the bikes name.

Was it painted by Velobuild or supplied as decals with the frame if so, what did you specify for decal colour, or did you add the decal yourself afterwards?"
