Really disappointed you can't order one of these frames.

I keep seeing this frame on different websites. Wondering if the are all the same or some are better quality. Also what is the max tire size. I keep seeing 32 or 27. Anyone have this frame to verify?

Cheers Brad

Has anyone found O-Rings to work on the end caps?

Looking at https://www.competitivecyclist.com/dt-swiss-240s-conversion-end-caps

It looks like the DT swiss 240's dont have them either.

Right before I hit buy now, I am curious about the center lock rotor only option for the boosted hubs. You loose all the weight savings on this hub by going to a heavier center lock rotor.
For the life of me I can't find any center lock rotors even close to the 6 screw.

Can someone point me in the right direction here. I dont want to add an adapter either.

Cheers

What did those bad boys cost you. The rims that is, what kind of XC riding are you doing? I'm pretty aggressive but only 64kg .

I'm very interested in these Hubs, how have they performed. I would be taking them on a large 7 day bike race and would be concerned that they ratchets would just wear out. Has anyone used the AliExpress ratchets in their DT Swiss hubs with success?

Also looking for a light 29er rim with 25mm internal if anyone have suggestions.

Cheers

I googled it and I could not find much beyond a brand called Orange that gives 1 year warranty on racing and this thread.  Don't think any brand would harm themselves by excluding racers from their warranty, racers are some of the top ambassadors for the sport.

OK, here is one for example, Giant is a fairly well known brand, but this is from their USA terms and conditions....

5. Exclusions. THE ABOVE WARRANTY, OR ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY, DOES NOT COVER NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR. ALL WARRANTIES ARE VOID IF THE BICYCLE IS MODIFIED FROM ITS ORIGINAL CONDITION OR THE BICYCLE IS USED FOR OTHER THAN NORMAL ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, FAILING TO FOLLOW THE OWNER’S MANUAL OR USING THE BICYCLE FOR COMMERCIAL ACTIVITIES OR IN COMPETITIVE EVENTS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO BICYCLE RACING, BICYCLE MOTORCROSS RACING, STUNT RIDING, RAMP JUMPING OR SIMILAR ACTIVITIES, AND TRAINING FOR SUCH ACTIVITIES OR EVENTS.

Like you said before, when I read things like this, it makes me look elsewhere for a bike. This exclusion may not get used much, but knowing my luck it would happen to me.

All besides the point really, as you are trying to get support on your frame. They should at least respond to your emails. I am guessing they responded to you fairly quickly when you made queries on purchasing.

Great you shared that. I definitely look at Giant differently now. It will be good trail talk topic if I catch a friend training on a Giant bike.

My giant Trance and Reign both had a sticker on the handlebars saying this bike is designed for competition. I assume that disclaimer is for the lower end bikes.

I would say 4.8 tires are just fine. The rims never felt undersized. If you want to run Uber low psi either go 100mm or I believe 68mm is more then enough. .

I was lucky and got a 1310 gram wheelset, which cost me half the price of the Acros A-Wheel Wheelset I wanted to buy.
Unfortunatly the spoke nipples are red and not black as the vendor said. So it does not really match the rest of the bike.
After the first ride today at 3 °C, I can say the color isn't that bad and I can live with it  ;)

Soon there will be the 7.xx in front  :D

What wheelset did you order?. Is that weight with pedals. Ok impressive.

29+ & 27+ / Re: 2016 Carbon Trek Stache 29+

Carbon dude, Do you think your Stache would compete in a XC atmosphere? Curious as these are the trails I ride and am quite interested in getting a 29+. Or even converting my CS-019 fatbike into a 29+. Only thing is i wouldn't like the larger qfactor of the fatbike cranks on my main bike.

057 is the most overbuilt carbon frame. It's the frame I would suggest for you
. That said I would suggest at least a front fork.  If your trying to be the SS fixie rigid hipster on the trail then ride on.
