There was some talk a few pages back regarding what a mud guard for the shock. I had designed and printed myself one a few weeks back that seems to work well. It's held on via a zip and i've attached it for anyone that has a 3d printer.

Seat post question.
One of last items on my purchase list is a dropper post to go in my size small frame.
How many have installed 31.6 diameter post without any modifications?
insertion depth?
for those that had to go with 30.9, what did you use as a shim?

I had installed a 31.6 diameter 125mm PNW Loam dropper post into my small frame with no issues. I have it fully inserted into the frame (215 mm).

Anyone given their rig a hard time on gnarly terrain and jumps? Any feedback concerning the frame rigidity and endurance?

I was out on my bike yesterday sessioning 2-3 feet drops without any issues and tackling roots at speed. The bike has been sucking it up like a pro without any issues. I'm not a small guy either.... I would have issues with frame flex/tire rubbing on my old QR 26er doing the same.

It seems like it could work. Mine measured 28mm without the dust covers and it has a 1mm lip on the inside. So not too much more to shave off.

Although I'd did just get the new standard eyelet damper body in . Was trying to find a how-to or anything on how to swap it. Only found the sram service manual for the super deluxe but that's was for a full 200hr service. My shock is new so doesn't need service. do you know if I were to just replace the damper how much oil do I need to fill it with ?  I got some 7wt but was wondering if I could even just use what was in the "old" damper.

The Piggy back and damper circuit is pressurized. Once you take off the damper shaft if you didn't depressurize the piggyback, the damper will start to empty itself all over yourself and your workspace.

I ended up using ~100ml of oil to replace all the oil and bleed the circuit. You can probaly get away with a lot less to just bleed the system.

After being out of town, waiting for parts, and finding the time. I was finally able to finish the build up today. Hopefully I can get it in some dirt soon.

Attached is a better measurement of the rear shock mount. I also did doubles check to make sure that the shock mount was indeed 8mm.

Also the bike comes with a standard boost thru axel, some generic bottom bracket, bolt on seat post clamp and a headset with a compression type plug.

Edit: I didn't realize the photo was cropped for the rear shock

Geekbox32 - thanks for the measurements and info on the shock.  A small solace - the bearings at the other end make the shock easier to disassemble/service.  Can you fit the calipers in with the inside measurement for the 22.x section?  It looks like the install kits for fox change every .2mm

The rod end of the shock has to be at the rear. The Shock can/piggy back is too fat to fit through the frame.  I tried to see if it would fit reverse and it doesnt seem like that would work. If it did, it would be very difficult to add air to the shock.

I'll try to get better measurements later today if not it wont be until next week as i'll be out of town for the weekend...

8x22mm front
8x30mm rear

According to the Tideace listings.

In reality its 8x30 Front and 8x22ish rear. Reversed from what is published on aliexpress
This means the bearing mount shocks that typically come with Santa Cruz bikes will not work as the rear shock mount is not wide enough.. I learned this the hardway....

How long did the shipping take in total?

It was shockingly fast. It shipped out of HK on 8/12 and was at my door in Seattle, Washington by 8/17

Here is some more photos including rough measurements of the shock tunnel and fork clearance. The fork is a 150mm 51mm offfset Pike for reference. I'm still need to buy a few more parts before I can really start to build it up. Overall the frame looks really good!
