Hi, could you tell me where you bought a C-ring with a 0.5mm diameter gasket?
I just found this on AliExpress:
KOCEVLO Internal cable headset Adjusting Washers Bike Front Fork Headset Spacer Cycling Accessories
https://a.aliexpress.com/_Expwsum

Not a perfect fit for the original headset I had to modify it with an angle grinder.

Hi. I had the exact same problem. The expander was at fault, as it wasn't able to compensate for the play in the headset. I bought a DEDA 70mm expander and applied some carbon paste to it. The problem disappeared.
I guess my expander is fine as its not moving up inside the fork.

Did you install the headset with the provided C-Ring and all the parts that came with the frame or did you use a third-party cockpit with provided parts?
I used the supplied part t was clicking real bad. I ordered a 0.5mm shim and installed it on top of the C-Ring. It's better but still clicking occasionally as I described.

I am confindent that the supplied headset is very low quality as there are no markins on the bearings. I have no idea if the bearings are supposed to be 45/45 or 45/36 degrees as SP-Cycle does not provide details.

I am willing to change the supplied headset to 3rd party product while I don't want to damage the frame because of this issue.
Will contact the manufacturer again but I have a feeling that they couldn't care less.

Anyone else having problems with the supplied headset?

Now I installed a 0.5mm shim to see if it helps - no luck.

Tightening the headset top cap does not preload the bearings enough, even with the shim installed steering is really smooth not stiffenig as it should.

During riding high speed if the front wheel hits an obsticle it makes one loud click.

During sprints or applying brakes no strange sound it only happens on major impacts.

I have no idea if its a faulty headset, frame or fork problem and would appreciate any input.

Contacted SP Cycle 5 days ago via email, no answer...

Check if there is no gap between stem and fork tube. I saw the same problem not long ago. The reason was that stem hole was a bit larger than the diameter of the fork tube.
Same problem with 2 different stems.
Reinstalled everything Yesterday with a lot of grease. Now clicking sound only appears on rough descents.
I guess that the headset needs a shim washer for proper preload.

Hey guys,
Dealing with a persistent headset click on my G028 build and looking for advice.
The Symptoms:
Zero fore-and-aft play when locking the front brake and rocking the bike.
The click happens only under heavy side-to-side twisting force (holding the wheel straight and forcing the bars left/right).
What I've Checked:
Stem is at 5.5 Nm with carbon paste. Expander plug isn't slipping. Compression ring is right side up.
Even with an extra 5mm spacer on top to guarantee clearance, cranking the top cap down doesn't bind the steering at all—the headset still spins completely free, so it's not truly compressing.

Is it normal that the steering is not stiffening with preload?
Any advice?

Assembled the bike Yesterday no issues so far.
1st ride 50km/1100m vertical with some XC terrain as well.
I like this bike a lot so far!

The Shenzhen Asbestos Grey color is a great choice as it looks the same even if the bike is covered in an inch of dust  ;)

Will fit bartape next... I was unsure about the cockpit

Frame ordered on May 22th arrived June 7th
Paintwork average just had time to check critical points.

Everything looks fine so far apart from the rear brake mounts. Those need attention.

Nope, contacted them directly on Saturday via email but got no response. Tried Wednesday again via email, their contact form and the WhatsApp number on their website. Neither received a response to my emails nor the contact form and the WhatsApp number is not registered with WhatsApp. I will send them another email today and if I don't hear back from them by Tuesday I'll open a case with PayPal.
I sent them a question about the frame that I ordered, took them a week to answer...
I hope they will deal with your problem in a reasonable way but the quality of your frame raises some questions :(

I've ordered XL in RAW Glossy. It suppose to be shipped to Poland on June 10th, so bike should be ready at the end of month. I will share pictures when frame arrives.

Bike will be build with Light-Carbon handlebar, VFV Deep seatpost, Ryet "berk" saddle 81g, Force 13s groupset with red chain and crankset inc 40t garbaruk oval chainring, Tune Prince/Princess 28h hubs with 238g 30mm internal rims and carbon spokes (aprox 930-950g set), ThunderBurt 2.1 tires (560g each), Chaser 160mm rotors.
Do you know if DUB Road or Road Wide Crankset fits this frame?
I can not find any chainline data.
