If you're going to try it, you might as well buy direct from Onirii:
https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804780327674.html?

It looks like the axle is alloy. I notice alloy axle cranks don't sell well on AliExpress, probably for good reason.

Ah good catch about the axle and seller! Hoping other brands like the Elilee XXE or Skypivot show up on aliexpress someday.

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: SEKA Bikes? Out of contact?
« on: December 01, 2022, 10:05:37 AM »
Did you build up the frame yet? How is it?

Yep, received the frame last week and built it up waiting to put more miles on it before creating a separate post reviewing the bike. So far so good though. Built it up with the new Di2 R8170, Elite Drive 50s w/ Schwalbe one pro tubeless in frame size large the total weight(not including pedals, computer, or rear light was just under 7.1kilos or around 15.8 pounds.

My only complaint has been the lack of communication from Cycling 100, however having already built a few Chinese bikes I had more patience than most on the weightweenies forum. Ended up taking 6.5 months from order to delivery, party due to covid lockdown, and partly due to lack of Large frame availability. I would be a bit hesitant to order now with the current political unrest especially in shanghai where they're made.

The build process itself had only one issue which was mostly error on my part. When running the hydraulic hoses it helps to fasten the hose to the brake and tighten the brake down. I thought I was having a strange issue with my handlebars turning themselves however this weas resolved when I connected both ends of the hydraulic hose. I did learn if connecting and securing everything doesn't solve the issue then either the cables are cut too short or the line is twisted causing tension. The new wireless Di2 was incredibly easy to setup and SEKA provides plenty of parts to accommodate Di2 or cable run builds.

How does it ride you may be wondering? Well I'm wondering the same haha. With only 1 ride so far I'm waiting on better weather and my weekends have also been occupied by skiing. Having said that the bike "feels" much stiffer than my vbr177 or Sworks SL5 Disc. This could be due to a multitude of things like wheels, handlebar, tire pressure, or that its a new thing and I want it to be good. Time will tell and I'll follow up with another review after some more miles.

Good to know. Curious to see how your builds turn out, are you going for a weight weenie build or more of an all rounder?

Tried a pair of Monton bibs after patliean's video about their clothing, a bit more expensive than aliexpress but much cheaper than Rapha at a similar quality.

@1Sigma Interested in that slipstream brand lemme know how you like them.

Got it, I'm also on the fence about buying but my issue is debating between a rim brake or disc version. Coming from the mountain bike world all my road bikes have discs so I never got a chance to try rim brakes. With all the hills in my area I'm curios to try a light build but wondering how the rim brakes will preform on the descents.

So far my communication with Justin has been pretty good. A lead time of 2-3 months doesn't sound too bad. Unless it ends up being like SEKA where I've been waiting on my frame since April...

See this topic: http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,3597.0.html

Currently about to purchase the 48V which is the rim brake model myself along with a38mm wheelset. Pretty smooth so far, planning on using paypal.

- they painted my FM909 with the bearings in it, locking them in.

What?? That's crazy, did they offer you any compensation for the mistake?

Thinking about building up a 909 myself, how do you like it and what suspension are you running?

Bummer, at least you got your money back. Sounds like it was a shipping issue. If the carbon or hubs aren't cracked or bent you may be able to salvage the wheels by replacing the spokes. I've ordered two sets of wheels from elite directly from their website and the entire process was smooth. The link cramy posted looks like a pretty good deal, hope that works out for you. Farsports and Lightbicycle are two other pretty big wheel brands to check out.

Regarding the Trace Velo comment, I could see it being deleting if it blamed the Elite for the damage instead of shipping. I've had packages no show and other times get a completely different item than what I ordered, that's just how it goes.

BTW what frame are you building up?

I think the money could be spent elsewhere for better weight saving. Sure it looks cool. But you are just paying for like what 20g over the standard "Padded" ones.

140g for $15  https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804534437825.html

I am sure I can design one. But I having tried to print tpu for the flex. here is an example. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5002056

Ended up ordering that Mixed saddle that Sigma posted. I agree that for the price the ThinkRider Honeycomb is probably not worth getting. Cool to see that people are 3D printing their own saddles!

13
I just received a saddle from the MIXED store on AliX

Carbon with dense padding, 135g, really nice build quality and finish.

These mixed saddles look promising, gonna pick up the 7D version. Thanks Sigma!

Anyone have any info on this ThinkRider honeycomb saddle ~122g?

Seems pretty light considering the amount of padding. Also not completely sold on the 3D saddles I have another much heavier aliexpress one and the comfort is negligible however they do look pretty cool.

Cosy carbon saddle is here!

Thanks SW!

I have one of the original versions of this branded "west biking" interested to try the newer version. Still trying to get the tilt/fore/aft just right but so far its pretty comfortable. I do get a bit of sliding around occasionally and it looks like this next version may fix that.
