I'm a little late to the thread, but have you considered building your own? Either way $500 should be plenty, but I got a lot of satisfaction from building my wheels. I've gotten two sets of carbon rims from Peter, one 29" with 25 mm internal width and one 27.5" with 35 mm internal width. Both are for my -057. Building them up was no trouble at all, following some online calculators for getting the right spoke size and how to put them together. If I was doing it again I think I would go with a 35 mm internal 29" rim. The -057 frame is too narrow to fit really large tires, but a 2.4" tire on the wide rim gives great cornering and at 200 lbs I can run 18-20 psi in the rear.
On both wheelsets I used DT Revolution spokes. No problems, even with my weight riding on lots of rocks and roots (Southeast US trails).
I used DT Swiss 350s on the 29" rims and they have been great. For the wider 27.5" rims I decided to try XT hubs- the pair of hubs costs about the same as the front 350 hub (mine were ~$70 for the set), and they only weigh a couple of ounces more than the 350s. The XT hubs have been great as well- they have 36 engagement points and have not given any problems, though they are due to be opened up and re-greased.
Bumping up this old post, but I get some input.
First, how to route the dropper post line? I use the Jagwire stuff that you stick on the frame (a 3M tape). It's cheap, works nicely, never failed. You don't have to drill your frame . It's hard to tell that this is an added piece to the frame (on a black frame).

Second, should you use a dropper post? Agreed that a XC World champion doesn't need one. If you are not, you will benefit from it. I am a poor rider downhill and my skills have dramatically improved since I get a Reverb. I'm now a lot faster and safer. If I ever break it, I'll buy another one immediately.
That post looks sweet, to bad it's over $500. Wouldn't look good having a seat post that cost more than my frame.
I dunno... I have a bike that cost twice as much as my car.
Thx Carbon dude, but that's not really the answer I was aiming for. This looks more then an advertisement then an explanation.
can someone with experience about the FR frames give me some information. Are these frames strong and so on?
No help with routing, but I run an external routed Reverb on my Santa Cruz, with it being a long travel 29er, its nice to drop the post for the downhill stuff. I've been thinking about a dropper for the 057, because fo whatever reason I can't quite get behind the seat like I'd want. Would love the LEV carbon 65mm travel post, but at $500, way to expensive.
Once you add one, you'll find at first you don't use it as much or drop it as far as you can. After some use, drop it often and all the way and you'll find more downhill speed.
