I've found a few wraps of bar tape offcuts hold the battery just fine.  I I've got 10k incident free using this method on my previous bike.  Obviously you can tailor the degree of hold very easily by varying the overlap.

...though your 3d printed one is obviously very nicely done.  Just mentioning the tape method for anyone stuck.

ll right, thank you. I was aware that both of you are using SRAM, but surely there must be some people who have built their bikes with Di2. Naturally, I asked Alisa first, but after waiting almost three days for a response, the answer I received was: “We do not provide this with this frame.”
That was quite a disappointment.

At first, I wanted to purchase a mount, but unfortunately I ordered the wrong one(27,2mm size instead 31) and therefore couldn’t determine whether a standard mount would work. I have now had one 3D-printed, which fits perfectly.
If anyone is interested, I can share the STL file.

I also believe that my rubber seatpost cover looks excellent—possibly even better than the original one, don’t you think?

DIY oven.  Holds +/-3C

Tweaked the oven a bit with some 12v 120mm computer fans I had lying around and it would hold within +/-1(!)  Kind of irrelevant  as the cure temperatures Cerakote quote are up to 300C but I didn't trust a third party to not overcook the frame.  I suspect the epoxies are low temperature curing so wanted to exercise caution.

Sprayed with a super cheap hvlp Wagner and it came out pretty decently but I definitely put it on too thick as there's some orange peel.  Really needed a gun with an adjustable fan/round as most of it went in the air.

Exactly 25g for the frame only - was running out the door so photos tomorrow. 15g certainly sounds plausible if you spray stuff for a living.

It seems I've finally figured out why one UD matte isn't like another. They call both options UD matte, but in reality, the second option is "transparent Black matte". It seems to them that if you don't specifically ask for clear UD matte without any black paint, they might give you this transparent Black matte (2). Moreover, even on the unpainted version, they still touch up some seemingly especially messy (in their opinion) areas with paint, like the dropouts and the area to the right of the BB on image 2 (they look strange, as if they were blurry, retouched, and sloppily edited in photoshop BUT it's painted spot), and theoretically, you can ask them not to do this and leave all the beauty as is.

Ok, the investigation is closed, I will stop bothering you with this topic here, seems like hardly anyone cares.

My raw finish reveals the surface to be very clean indeed.  If you like the look of raw carbon, I'd get it cleared (matte or otherwise) in a heartbeat.

The H-series Cerakote is more consistent in many ways, but it does require an oven.

3. Hey @contraptions, judging by your weighing photos, you received a completely UNPOLISHED frame and mentioned planning to apply Cerakote. If you don't mind, could you show how it turned out? Is it true that one layer of Cerakote only adds 10-15 grams, or did GPT deceive me again?
I haven't had a chance to Cerakote it yet - hopefully tomorrow.  I'll post a picture/weight as soon as I do but it may slip another week as I can only do this during daylight hours on the w/e.

The fork does /look/ relatively unaerodynamic: it's goes from ~15x25 to ~25x47.  I.e. purely on absolutel frontal area and on aspect ratio it's very stumpy.

I would imagine the fork is by far the dominant factor on a frameset's overall drag, particularly with bottles and legs.  Has anyone seen anything attempting to quantify this?  I was always quite tempted to swap a propel fork onto my TCR as new ones frequently come up on ebay but couldn't figure out whether it would physically fit.

That said, per others' comments I think it's highly unlikely to be a meaningful difference in the grand scheme of things.

SPCycle probably sells the best headset cover due to the waterproof gasket port. I'm using the same one on my R088 frameset.

FSA SRS, Acros ICR and Ritchey also make semi-integrated top covers with rubber blanks.  No experience with any of them but it looks like you make your own holes for the first two, so presumably a better seal and no bungs required

Marbled/forged are just a random mess of fibres, but i don't see how you create a butterfly effect which is a very accurate radially aligned pattern. No two arced sections would be the same and joint would be super obvious. 

I have a trashed butterfly film and the outer surface is clearly following the same layup as the inner layers.  I'll take some photos at the w/e.

Butterfly effect is just a type of finish.
Which wheels do you believe have a butterfly effect solely as a cosmetic layer?  I can't imagine how/why a munfacturer would choose such a hybrid lay-up but happy to be corrected.

If you look at (every) other wheel on this thread you'll see they're also filament wound but with a narrower tow and (obviously) a final constant-angle outer layer.  I have one set on of Speeders like this and another with butterfly.  And now a second set of Zen with butterfly.

I wonder if anyone other than Speeder/Adapt are filament winding.  None of the factory tour videos I've seen showing rim manufacture have featured filament winding.

Per my previous message I'm as satisfied as I can be that these Speeder filament wound rims are top-notch and very durable at their standard weights. I've built a pair with Aerolites and a pair with carbon spokes and by far the easiest and most evenly tensioned result I've achieved.

(I think I estimated the independent front and rear hub weights but can't remember how...)

The cs05 spokes don't fit otherwise I'd have gone for those.

Hubs are beautifully finished but I'd have taken the tiny weight gain over what are now almost vestigial splines on the disc and cassette.  Going to pull the front rotor fairly regularly I think as they honestly look like they've gone too far.

Actual weight on a Kern balance 1213g. Look great in the sun - poor indoor lighting in the photos.

Pretty standard build quality tension wise.  That said I'm an inveterate spoke plucker and I've never been impressed with any pre built wheels yet.  Contrary to popular belief carbon spokes are incredibly easy to build with compared to superlight steel and/or shallow rims.

I built a set of Speeder rims on Aerolites that now have 25k of abject abuse on country lanes and are straight as a die. I'm 72kg. Those were the heaviest of the four tiers (i.e. normal) so I've just gone one lighter.

The new ones definitely have a decent amount less carbon in the walls as they're noticeably tinnier to tap and give to gentle pressure.

I'm not sure if anyone has pointed this out but the rims are plainly Speeder/Adapt.  Diagrams and weights match exactly.

I also had a pair of the Speeder 45 carbon spokes wheels but the token hubs are pretty heavy and they don't offer any variations of their carbon spoked wheels.

my sense of relief is immeasurable  :o I was pretty confident it was the FSA bearings that were correct, but the uncertainty sewed by @contraptions was tearing said confidence asunder. Thank you so much @Sakizashi for doing this testing!
