Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Elite wheels black friday
« on: November 21, 2024, 09:29:04 PM »
First, I would recommend you to use the search feature because the Elitewheels were discussed back and forth.

Second, here is one of my answers copied from one of those threads:
"I've tested EDGE, ENT, and DRIVE wheels. The ENT and EDGE differ mainly in weight, spokes, and rim profiles. I am not sure about the SLT and SLR. I will consider writing a comparison article about all these wheelsets. Anyway, the DRIVE wheels have carbon spokes and ceramic bearings.
Regarding ride feel, EDGE + ENT are pretty soft but comfortable. But for example, I didn't feel like riding 1350g wheels when riding EDGE. They are not as responsive as DRIVE ones, which are a bit lighter. The ENTs are much heavier and better for flats and steady efforts.
Having said that, I would recommend saving a bit more for DRIVE wheels. They are my go-to climbing wheels (45mm depth weighs under 1300g), and they are much more responsive than EDGE.
However, it also depends on your experience. For example, I would be happy if I was transitioning from ALU wheels to EDGE. But given that I've tried wheels costing over $1000 with carbon spokes, I'd opt for those instead."

Third, you can also check out my Elitewheels comparison https://www.cyclistshub.com/elitewheels-road-bike-wheels-compared/ or Elitewheels Black Friday deals where I listed the actual price and also the price from a month ago: https://www.cyclistshub.com/elitewheels-black-friday/.

Bro stop shilling your blog everywhere. You are basically the only one on the whole internet who thinks edges are soft. Maybe get a better bike and some good tires for your tests

Yeah, I don't really understand why many (?) people here are going for those 26 mm inner width rims for road use with narrow tires. ETRTO recommendations don't exist for nothing. You can usually go a bit further than recommended, but it's a bit of a gamble.

Unless you want to to exclusively run 32+ mm tires, don't get those rims!

That said, it would be great to see something between 21 mm and 26 mm rim width. Something like 23 or 24 mm would be pretty versatile.

Then get the new uni rims from yuanan that are 23iw and 32 external

Lets get back to talking about the cranks guys, not power meters

Those cranks are sold with this power meter so we gonna talk about it if you like it or not

And the biggest plus of og elita one seatpost is two bolts seat clamp. All one bolt seat clamps failed on me after some time

Anyone know if passquest chainring is compatible with SRAM 12 speed AXS flat top chains? I just bought the p505 PES and matched with with a chainring from ali.

After reading around, it seems there might be an incompatibility with flat top chains? Wonder if anyone has first hand experience on how to mix all of this together.

There are specific versions of those chainrings for AXS. They literally have AXS in the name. Hard to miss

It's fine you can start a thread for any question dude. Some socially awkward people feel they need to chime in whenever a new thread is started. Just ignore or block. No need to explain yourself.

I'm sure you'll get the answer you need :)

It's not socialy awkward (seems like u don't even understand this term). It is just about at least some kind of order here, no to make a forum one big mess. This is pretty standard thing across various forum to prevent spam. If you don't understand it, then there is something awkward about you.

So far so good, have done 10 rides ISH and going for a bigger 160km round today, Onyu pass in Japan.
The cranks are holding up very well only the Powermeter was/is a bit off compared to me wahoo kickr. Like 30 watts, which is not that insignificant as I'm not enjoying Pogi's power output

Yeah that's why I don't want any of those elille, cybrei, lexon cransets as the all use those xcadey power meter. It a shame magene don't make spider PM for easton standard.

Can always get sram red crankset and funny enough it's cheaper then those Chinese ones lol. But it is dub and I am afraid of putting a dub into pf bottom bracket as everyone says it's just too much compromise with bearings size.

I would definitely choose direct from yuanan then this  unknown brand.

Yuanan is tried and tested. Kelly is now managing the orders and she repaired the little mess Leon did.

They also have new wider rim profiles which I recently bought and am extremely happy with them.

And u needed to make w whole separate thread to ask this question... Smh

Managed to mount the crankset!
Figured that the right side needed much more spacers to create clearance between the lockring and the bottom bracket outer shell.
Once this was done the adjustment ring on the left was sufficient to close the gap and avoid play. The ring sits barely on the inner BB seal, which should be fine.
Lexon staff agreed to put spacers in future deliveries. Some installation instructions would be helpful as well....
Below the new and the old cranks on my Sculptura 9000.
Haven't rode it yet but should be happening later this week.

Any update on this ?

Because they want to lock you in, to use their cranks going forward... That is the whole idea of doing proprietary things, so they only work with that vendor :/

Mate I am not talking about their cranset with PM but about separate spider based PM which they also sell. I use one on sram crankset

This is gonna be a tough one. The cast magnesium frame is 25€ more expensive with 11.11 coupons than it was on mega choice day.

If I remember good last year it was also cheaper to buy before the 11.11 sale lol. Seems similar now.

On the other hand I bought a spexcel winter long sleeve on choice day now and today it's cheaper by 10% lol

Well I found this mad man on youtube https://www.youtube.com/shorts/BKQRqR7GiHY
That seem to have filed the large slot on the power meter down, so it will fit easton cranks eg. the lexon carbon cranks. This probably isn't 100% safe and may change power readings, but the interface is really close to an easton standard.

I really don't understand why magene is not doing Easton spider PM ?

Any recommendations for good quality longsleve jerseys. I normally buy from siroko and would like to get similar quality.

I have 4 different spexcel long sleeves for autumn/winter and they are all great

Another video which I think hasnt been posted

On paper this looks really nice:
fully wireless SRAM-style derailleur
hydraulic oil Shimano-compatible braking
shifting logic can be set as either Shimano- or SRAM-style within the app
compatible with basically any cassette no matter the gear count, even futureproof with 14 aswell

With good QC/longevity this could potentially be the best 1by groupset to date

I wonder why I never see videos on this forum? Switched abdlock off and nothing changed so it wasnt it. Anyone has a solution?
