Maintenance, Mechanics, & Tools / sensah hydraulic brake question
« on: January 12, 2024, 10:26:59 AM »
hello every one. I'm considering the Sensah 1x11 HRD hydraulic disc shifter/brake levers. This is going on my Frankenbike that is already a 29er that I use for gravel riding and now thinking of putting drop bar.

My question: anyone know what barb/olive sets to use if you shorten the hose? Are they compatible with shimano barb/olive?
also anyone tried mixing these with Magura? I run Shigura on two of my bikes (shimano lever/magura caliper) but these are mountain bikes. My experience has been very positive so thinking of doing the same with this setup

thanks

Well that lasted long…
Had hoped to bring the new rig to ORAMM this year. Prior to that I had gone to Killington VT with the bike. Let me just say this frame is one of the best climbing bikes I’ve ever ridden. I did put it thru a few black diamond runs but nothing stupid. There was also a bunch of gravel and rock (some which kicked up and hit frame pretty hard)
Anyway bottom line chain tube crack on bottom of non drive side. Less than one season of service. Ridden hard but I think as most true mountain bikes intended to be ridden. The site I bought it from is sending me replacement rear triangle. Still even with “warranty” paying $130. Luckily I had purchased a replacement frame in case of something like this so will have it ready to roll soon. Based on this however not sure I’d recommend the frame

So got several rides in now.
After initial Shake out rides feel like I can give some helpful feedback. First… don’t know if this is just w lexon but seems like bearing tolerance could be better. I torqued everything to spec.. had a knock that I finally figured out after breaking down the suspension linkage and found a bearing that I could actually push out by hand and it was not pressed in flush. Fixed that and silence ever since.
do wish they would have included shock mount torque refs as those bolts are soft aluminum and I had to purchase a rear bolt after rounding one out. I went with 8 nm front and 12 nm rear shock mount torque… if anyone reads this and thinks or knows for sure it should be different feel free to let me know.
Only other issue which is a big one: on the 17.5 frame can’t fit full sized bottle. I even tried reversing shock which could then fit until the suspension compresses at which time the shock body would hit the bottle.
I’ll make it work but it’s gonna be a issue come summer time.

Now about the ride… DANG…so far I love it! Will it last? I don’t know.. is it gonna just shatter on me one day outta the blue?? Maybe

I’ll keep yah posted

So about 6 total hours  8)of riding on it so far.
Climbs fantastic. Very nice bike to pedal for sure. Had to work out an annoying knock which seems as tough it was one of the bearings in the rear suspension link not being fully seated. Tolerance for the bearing aren’t great. Can hand press one of them out. Greased the hell out of them and quiet now… feels like i Gained 25 wtts just getting rid of the noise. I’ll probably have to use that compound stuff from Park to make last thought. Just now starting to trust it. So far so good. Sexy looking though  8) 8)

Yep I stopped at 7 NM Could feel the soft aluminum hex start to give way. So hard to know. I will say the customer service s s from the  alibaba stores are terrible. Pretty sure it’s never a real person and always start off with “friend” “dear” even got “darling” once. I’m learning the product may be fine but ur on your own once it arrives

Hey guys and gals
Just purchased a Lexon genius. It’s gorgeous. Can’t wait to get it built up and post pictures. I do have a question do you want to you can answer. All of the linkage bolts have torque spec. Painted on them, But the front and rear shock bolts do not. I can’t find the torque specs for this and I certainly don’t wanna over torque carbon. The link on the Lexon web site is dead. Any idea how to get customer service from them? Or Any of you built this frame up yet and have recommendations?

Thanks
Pete

One last question… appreciate all your info. The brake tabs not being fully drilled?? So did you have to chase them? Looks like from the picture they would have inserts.

Thanks again
Pete

The Riot is done for now. First thing is to upgrade is the Monarch shock. Its a pogo stick pos. Super bummed my Cane Creek InLine doesn't fit. That shock is da bomb.
After that new hubs. Absolutely nothing wrong with the Profile hubs, they're just not boost. I have to use so many adapters and spacers just to make things work right that it's a big hassle. I did have to modify the frame to route the dropper cable. Wish l didn't have to do that, but...  Otherwise, i am very happy with my Riot. Fast and smooth

What frame modification did you do? Did you end up drilling out the down tube and seat tube?

Leaning towards pulling trigger on this frame. Any other feedback? Good? Bad?
Thanks!
