A couple more photos of the Goldix and Lexon saddle. Both these saddles clock in around the 150g mark. The Goldix is quite comfortable and the rounded saddle edges are more gentle on thighs. If found at a low price (bought mine for under $25 USD). I totally recommend it.

After long deliberation and a lot of comparisons, ordered the C5 in Roubaix colour. Any tips on Ali Express sites for groupsets appreciated. Looking for wireless Di2 Ultegra. Probably will not worry about a crankset because will get a Magene spider power meter.

I'd probably go the Ebay or used route for Ultegra Di2. 105 Di2 seems plentiful on AliEx though.

Is this the store you bought the saddle from?

Yes, from the Newbike Choice store. I'm now seeing that saddle pop up from different sellers, so I'd buy from whomever has the best price.

Interesting. I didn't realize Wheeltop had targeted the US market. In fact, I thought they were specifically avoiding the US market and only selling in Europe and Asia.

There was mention in the Wheeltop thread that they just opened some sort of distribution base or office location in Portland, OR. I'm not sure how Wheeltop is navigating around SRAM and Shimano patents. I even browsed some of SRAM's patents on battery attached electronic derailleurs and they even have interns filing patents! If anyone does something similar, they cry wolf and play victim of IP theft!

I work in another industry that has to deal with stupid lawsuits, so I really have no love for patent trolling.

Just a heads up. If you buy an Elite Wheelset from Amazon, Elite seems quite responsive in terms of honoring any defects or issues.

In summary, in your opinion... Is it worth it?

Depends. The ER9 is the cheapest gateway "drug" into Chinese electronic groupsets, just be ready to troubleshoot your own issues. Not to mention it's still a 1st gen product and LTwoo doesn't seem all that great as a company. Wheeltop actually seems more serious (like opening a US office) and Magene has a lot to gain creating full integration with an electronic groupset with their computers and power meters.

For all out reliability and affordable cost, I'd stick with mechanical.  For simplifying a fully internal bike build, electronic will make your life easier. If you want the ability to try different cassette speeds, Chinese electronic groupsets are the only options that allow you to do that.

For those that have your ER9 RDs die, have you tried replacing the batteries and rechecking all the cable connectors?

That's exactly what happened to mine over the weekend with a fast high speed bumpy descent and it completely died. FD even made weird sounds like a malfunctioning computer. I systematically restored the settings to default, re-synced both shifters and double checked all connectors. Even once it started working again, every time I flipped the bike over it would die again!

It was only after I swapped out the batteries, that it started working properly again. Because of that I have another set of batteries on order. It's also a good idea to write down your fine tune # adjustments, just in case you need restore everything to default.

Honestly I don't love electronic shifting that much to invest in Di2 or AXS. My other road bike is running Ultegra R8020 mechanical and it's bulletproof. My gravel bike is running a mix of GRX and Ultegra RX800 mechanical and that bike shifts like butter.

I have somewhere around 5k miles on the old RYET Carbon saddle here: https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806444717188.html, it looks like they quit selling it on the LEXON store. I bought it because it had very similar measurements as my ERGON SMC4-M saddle that I've loved on my gravel bike. The only noticeable measurement difference is a shorter nose.
I actually like the RYET saddle. My only complaint is that the side front flare corners, indicated by my pointer finger, have almost zero padding and they can feel quite hard on longer rides or when putting down more power.

I am waiting for the one on the bottom of your photo to be delivered now to see if it's any good. It's got quite a different profile than the ones I've been using and I'm curious how well it works out.

I also have that RYET saddle you posted and use it on my gravel bike. Between my 2 Ryet saddles and 1 Goldix saddle, I think I'm leaning towards the Goldix design. The 3D mesh has improved cushion with minimal weight. Also when running my fingers on the edges of each saddle, the Goldix saddle has much more rounded edges.

I haven't tried the newer Ryet designs, so they might be improved. Though the Goldix saddle at the time was by far the lowest priced carbon 3D mesh saddle on AliEx.

Quick visual comparison between the Ryet Aircode 3D printed saddle and the Goldix 3D printed saddle that's available from like $17-25 USD during sales. The Goldix saddle seems to be well built, with a stiff carbon shell and thick rails. The 3D mesh also has a bit more cushion, while the bottom edges of the carbon seem to be more rounded. There's also a 1cm lip that protrudes from the back end of the saddle to give a bit more length.

The two saddles seems similar. I'll report back on the actual ride quality once I put a few km/mi on it.

UPDATE: I just took this saddle for a ride and it felt great! No discomfort, plenty of cushion, stayed cool in the California sunshine and minimal friction when adjusting position. Unfortunately it seems the price has jumped up from it's earlier low price!

my first experience of carbon item from aliexpress was the rim brake wheelset (dura-ace) from Zhou Shi Jun (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004941919441.html) and he has frames of dogmaF and even painted Aeroad before in his Store... when I decided to get the frame, it's not listed anymore so he said he has another store that lists the aeroad and dogmaF.... thats "ride love"...

aethos clone also one of my option but doesnt include the handlebars then i opt for dogmaF
take the black one, cause the white one is exact copy of aethos with cable entry in the downtube (topheadset is not 52mm)... black one is full internal (topheadset is 52mm) and needs a good headset(kocevlo full handlebar with headset is i think fits on this aethos https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006561735597.html)...

aethos black full internal cable headset 52mm

I'm still on the fence if I want the full internal or semi-internal cabling Aethos clone. Full internal looks nicer, but it's a hassle when flying with a bike box. How was the buying experience from that seller? How long did it take to prep and ship your bike?

Nice build! Did you have a good experience buying from the Ride Love store? I might be interested in buying an Aethos clone frameset from them.

If anyone needs a replacement ER9 rear derailleur (or backup) 80 Design Store said they'd be willing to sell a replacement. Just message them.

Absolutely. Can't stress enough the importance of good rechargeable batteries.

It was weird. It would die if I flipped the bike around, but if I placed the charging cable on the RD, it'd wake up. Though after swapping the batteries out, the problem disappeared. I did 34km and 640m of climbing today and the issue disappeared.

I think besides weather proofing, the other areas of weakness are loose cables and batteries. I think if issues do arise with the ER9/ERX, I'd definitely go down the problem checklist to troubleshoot any problems that do occur.

I realized the same thing with my titanium gravel bike. Fully internal sucks big time. Never ever again !!!!!

Running electronic shifting with semi-internal cables doesn't look so bad. Only the brake hoses stick out and they can be fairly trim against the frame.
