I'm using LHM Plus oil meant for Citroen bought from the closest moto market. Much cheaper than any of that.

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: Mini Velo
« on: October 28, 2024, 10:32:44 AM »
I have wanted a mini velo ever since I got dropped by a guy riding one. I was on a Dogma F and the guy lapped me easily doing 42+kph. Stijn cycles Peg is very interesting but a little pricey option.

This HideMyBell GPS mount replica seems interesting:

I had one of these last year. Snapped in half and sent my Garmin flying. Bought the genuine one and I'm happy.

Consider wheelsets with CS-D65CU-33, but worried about 26mm internal. I bought lot of 25mm Schwalbe pro race (good deal 27$/piece) and want still used them. On my actual 21mm internal rims they have 26mm, I thing on 23mm it will be something like 27mm. So I suppose that on this 26 internal rim the tire will have something like 28-29mm. Question is, will it work and is it safe?
Sounds like you bought nice wheels for your previous Lada and now you're desperate to use them on your new Mercedes. Sell them for $25 per piece and move on.

Component Deals & Selection / Re: DT 240EXP hub clones Goldix, Venfort
« on: October 03, 2024, 08:07:40 AM »
I have recently build a wheelset with the Goldix R240SL hubs.

Did my first ride yesterday and all is well. They are very loud as expected. I would like them to be more silent.
I have the same hub. Does your freewheel make a bit "pulsating" ratchet noise? Mine does and it's annoying as it's not continuous but cycles between louder and quieter sound. Otherwise I'm happy and wish they were louder.

Road Bike Frames, Wheels & Components / Re: New frame: Longteng RD301-D

So, if those frames are same one, it means RC301-D also support semi internal routing..
Support for semi internal routing is not really a feature of the frame. Just buy semi internal routed stem, spacers and headset accessories and you're good to go.

Well the wheel/cassette combination is proving tricky! Mtb cassettes are MS, elite wheels or CSC seem to offer only the road spline for the 700C wheels as I am looking for 45-50mm depth rim. I have question waiting answers to both of them and Yuanan, we’ll see
Why don't you just buy HG cassette if finding suitable wheels with MS is tricky?

Yass! Great to see active member to win the prize. Looking forward to the build thread!

We want hooked rims! Hookless is a terrible trend. I agree about rim width - 34mm is pretty good for 30-32mm tires. 60-70mm deep is fine. Lots of shallow rims in the market - don't make another one!

hello, ive been buying 9 speed ybn chains but I was wondering if anyone had a link for legit 11-12 speed shimano chains, I am confused which shimano chains are real or not as some do not come with quicklinks and they are supposed to be packaged seperately and sometimes the reviews say that they are real. Or should I completely stay away from shimano chains, what other chains are good alternative apart from YBN?
For genuine Shimano chains visit your local shop. For bootleg Shimano chains go for Aliexpress.

Thanks. "Close the gap" looks like a very solid and elegant solution but I am not sure if I want to pay 60 euros for a Garmin mount with bell. You can find cheap chinese copies on Aliexpress (like five times cheaper) but sadly I only found versions for either standard aero bars or normal round bars. I cannot find a chinese version for Most iTalon bars.

Btw does the bell of the "Close the gap" sound good and loud enough? Are you satisfied with it? Did you have any problems mounting it on this frame bars since they are just a copy of the Most original?
I had the aliexpress aero version. Didn't last more than few rides until it broke. Bought the Close the gap version. Worth every penny. Solid build quality and the bell is easier to use and better.

For oil I'm using Citroen (also for Rolls Royce and Bentley) hydraulic mineral oil by Comma. 8€ for 1 litre. Works perfect.

The "tiny island I'm confined to" was mentioned, northwestern switzerland and neighboring regions. 4GB is almost enough to fit all of germany and all of france, the 2 best mapped countries in the world. Do you ride in a different country every week?

Surely you mean 20MB because the only garmin device with more than 16GB is the new 1040
So far this year yes - every week in a different country. However this week not planning to go anywhere so gonna break that. Like you said 4GB is almost enough for just 2 countries, but still not enough. Installing maps is so annoying I couldn't imagine doing it 10 times a year (with 5 visits to areas outside your home). Feel free to use whatever you want, but 4GB is very small amount in regards of map data.
