I run Schwalbe pro one 34mm tyres on a 21mm internal rim and it fits. 34 WAM - about 3-5mm room. at the fork its the closest (maybe even just 2mm on one point). So 36mm might be a tad too big depending on final shape of the tyre and stiffness of the wheel (flexing).

They are a pain to install and make sure everything is lined up as it needs to be.

This stem-mounted system seems way better. You can adjust stack as well as bar angle, and the bars are guaranteed to be parallel. None of the aerobar compatible handlebar options (like the SPcycle one) come in a narrow enough size for me.

Thats exactly my thought, the spcycle one looks decent but is more suited for a gravelbike. I dont want to go 43 on the drops when my aerobike has 36, i would feel like a parachute.

My main thought is adjustability and i am lurking around all the stuff i can probably make work, but this seems the most versatile.

Maybe i try this set and report back here.

Hello!

I am always looking for a flexible front end. I like to mount aerobars if a ride suits it or for ultras. Usually i was into buying an spcycle 069 integrated cockpit but then i came across this:

Its a tri base plate mounted directly to the stem. It looks way more stable than some dubious solutions.
Does anyone have a similar product or at least a experience backed opinion about this design?

Its 3mm off-center, so one side has 6mm more (measured to a central bottle cage bolt).
so after a Pedal washer you have about 2mm to shift (if you ride flat pedals or your current cleat position is in the middle it could be doable).

During the process i measured another crank on a road bike (with an adjustment ring) - it looks its 1+mm off center too and i didnt recognize it for several 1000 kilometers.

Exposed spindle lenght is about 94mm with preload ring. I managed to mount it to my BB92 Mountainbike Bottom bracket.

BUT: It wouldnt fit with the Adjustment/preload ring. I dont use that but preload it with spacers. This means the Crank isnt perfectly centered. i adjust that with pedal spacers on the left side.

So its a huge bodge fpr BB92, i fear BSA73 might even be a mm wider (took a quick measurement from my other bike)

Hi there :)

After 5 years of lurking i finally have a question i couldnt solve myself:
I tend to ride a traditional stem and handlebar combination and sometimes like to use classical clip on aerobars (that clamp to the bar). Syntace C3 is my go-to.

Is there any light carbon handlebar out there (36-38cm) that has enough space to clamp or that is traditional round all the way?
