Component Deals & Selection / Re: Specialized Power
« on: July 19, 2024, 09:42:56 PM »
I have ordered 2 mimic power saddles from the exact same vendor and they were very different. One had the correct shape but then the fabric adhesive started failing and it is no longer a usable saddle. The second one I ordered started sloping down on the sides way too early so the shape caused blood flow issues.

Component Deals & Selection / Cheji Clothing
« on: July 03, 2024, 07:20:55 PM »
I did a quick search and could only find two mentions of Cheji kit and none went into detail in sizing or specific items they liked. Can anyone share their experience with some of their specific bibs or jerseys?

Component Deals & Selection / Re: MTB Cranks - Suggestions?
« on: December 22, 2023, 12:15:06 AM »
I have 4 sets of the Cruz cycle cranks. The latest set in 155 may have not have perfectly faced interface with the chainring, or the two chainrings I mounted to it are ever so slightly bent. However, I it functions fine and I have never had any reliability issues across the four sets. One thing to note is they are shimano standard spindles (24 mm) NOT gxp spindles. The spindles are steel so I am not too worried about spindle issues.

  • Spcycle MTB handlebars: generic carbon MTB handlebars, but very well-made with a clean interior. Plenty strong, I've taken these down some real jarring singletrack with no issue.
Did you happen to get the weight on these?

Component Deals & Selection / Wildside Mimic Saddle

Has anyone purchased something like the Wildside Mimic saddle or heard from anyone who has tried it out?

Just a update: The Goldix zero offset chainring that looks like the X-SYNC tooth profile works great with my Shimano Deore chain and derailleur. I can't speak to the durability or to the 3 mm offset versions that look to have a different tooth profile. The zero offset works with my Ripmo V2 because it has a weird 55 mm chainline.

Can anyone recommend a water bottle cage that functions well and doesn’t look hideous?

The plot thickens. These Marina are being sold with shimano 12s cassettes and KMC chains.

Component Deals & Selection / Disk brake pads

Can anyone recommend a disk brake pad brand that seems to produce reliable pads?

To clarify, I have one of the aforementioned cranksets working great on a sram eagle 12s cassette and chain, but shimano's 12s system claims to require specific chainring teeth to work with their 12s chains.

I bought a few of the cranksets on the link below and they have worked great, so far. However, o am looking to try and pair them with a shimano 12s cassette and am curious if anyone has found a 3 bolt GXP style chainring that works with a shimano 12s chain.
