E-Bike Frames & Builds / Re: Szzs CEF55 - Bafang M820 ebike
« on: March 29, 2026, 09:07:17 AM »
Hi
Finished up CEF55 recently. Overall nice frame to build. Done 140km@3050m on single battery charge (about 7h of pedaling). Geometry is up to date, like the bike feels on the trail. There is no bridge in between seat stay's so there is a bit of a flex at the rear wheel (less than in orbea rise, but in similar way), which is not a bad thing.
Decided to make a small PCB for automatic light with a bit higher output, now I can not live without it :D

A few minor things:
-Max insertion length for seat post in L-arge frame is 295mm !! So be careful when choosing one.
-Lower/rear frame motor mounting have a bit too big clearance, had to prepare 0.7mm thick distance washer to keep the motor tight
-Left side of the frame is rubbing on the motor casing around drive axle, just about 15 mm above, motor housing need to be grinded a bit
-Some of the bolts have 4mm allen key hole which is a bit too small for bigger torque, so be very careful during assembly.

Bike with 1kWh 48V battery, enduro wheels and enduro casing tires weights 21.85kg which I think is OK.

Recommended.

Regards
Peter

Hi.
My LCFS918 done over 2000km so far (1400km bike packing trip month ago). I am a bit heavy - about 92kG, fully loaded bike was about 35-38kG. So far all is fine but just for curiosity I am going to check rear triangle/link bearings and report.
Frame is OK, bike rides lively and light, there is good control when going over rough sections of trail, done also some easy enduro trails and all is OK.

We want a e-mtb with a DJI Avinox motor instead. Please make this design available for us!

For what ? SIM card, GPS tracking, etc. No sense at all.

Only BAFANG all the way = freedom of eMTB.

Ludo
I am waiting for You to buy it first   :D

I have lcfs918, but prapobly will sell it, so I was thinking about LCFS980 or FM358. Priority is that frame must have room for two water bottles.

Cable routing is only headset - I have asked that question already to sales team.
But I think there should not be a problem to DIY it Yourself.

Have also some more details about frame size.
210x5X shock is popular enough, there shouldn't be any problem to get it. The only thing is not so many of them with the remote.

A few fresh pix bellow. I think it is interesting option. Just wondering how about that storage door with attached a full water bottle to it.

Very happy with the build.
