I ordered one of those a while back, just out of interest really. Findings were:

- I‘d be surprised if these bearings survived any moisture for long.
- Forget about using them without the pin resting against the cage.
- Depending on how the cage is built, the way it sits in the respective derailleur can just look silly.

Verdict: not worth it IMO. There‘s enough room in most derailleur cages to fit some bigger standard pulleys to make them look sharper, just use those. The ones from Stone are pretty decent.

Regarding eGR vers. 2: has anyone seen a listing on AliX for pins and olives? The latter seem to be standard Shimano BH90, and former looked similar to Tektro, but the Ltwoo ones seem so be slightly smaller in diameter.

I‘d say yes, but it‘ll be a little bit of a hassle. You‘d have to undo 3 screws holding the outer body in place, and 2 tiny clips to take out 2 axles that run through this body, too. But at least from the outside it doesn‘t look like there is anything glued or riveted in place. And I have to assume that the battery is something standard not anything proprietary. Happy to try during winter season when I don‘t need it. 😉

Obviously just the 2x version with the buttons and electronics left out. Which makes sense as you don‘t really need them and they would add to the cost. Still, they could‘ve just filled the gap with some sort of plastic dummy which really would not brake the bank. Alternatively they could just offer some template for a 3D printer, so customers can help themeselves to one. Someone CAD-enabled here, maybe? 😉

In my experience this is a reocurring problem with those titanium axles, diameters are just a touch too large and then interfere with any BB with solid aluminium caps. Using one with plastic caps (e.g. Shimano) usually works fine, though.


My Hudud crankset is unusable because the axle won‘t mount in exactly 90 degrees angle on the drive side, making the chainrings wobble. Down to poor manufacturing of the crankarm insert I assume.

I didn‘t use exactly these, but a similar product from a company call Treefrog, if I remember correctly. I was a little bit sceptical at first, but been using them for years now and they have been rock-solid.

I had a similar issue with mine, but it‘s been a while and I eventually got rid of it again. With a proper 1x drivetrain setup and narrow-wide ring, you shouldn‘t really need one.

Anyway, if I remember correctly, the middle screw sets the distance and the other two just lock that in place. As I couldn‘t get the guide far enough outward, I had to find longer screws for all of them to make it work. You may have to do the same,unfortunately.

Just a heads up, but I‘ve had 2 of those now (Xcadey and Hudud) and both had the same issue. It seems that they‘re just a hair oversized and that caused me problems with any bottom bracket using an aluminium cup. Extremely tight fit, to say the least! And despite the fact that I don‘t like to use a hammer to drive in a crank, getting these cups off again can be a proper struggle.

Simple solution: use a BB with plastic cups (like the Shimano ones)!

No surprise, really. So this one and the Coospo that I basically just ordered out of curiosity are more or less for the bin. I‘m sure that they‘ll eventually figure it out, but the common AE rule applies: don‘t buy stuff from the low end of the price spectrum.
