Here's mine. Only done 200km so far. And mine is just under 8kg

2
Frame, handlebars, and seat post, garmin holder all Winspace in the kit.

Ali Express for
Ultegra pedals
Ryet 3D saddle
Lizard Skins bar tape
RideNow TPU tubes
Pirelli Zero Road 30mm tyres
Carbon water bottle cages

Velo9 CC45 rims

Hambini BB. (you have to get one of these things. They are crazy. Do not even notice the pedals going around)

Got a deal on Facebook with a bike builder who had a cheap Dura Ace groupset

Took the 165mm spider arm power meter off my old bike.

3
Finally completed the build. Most of the parts from Ali

4
Adventure Cycles Stores
ScottM Bike Store
LEXON Official Store
TOP AE Mail Store

5
More pics

6
Will be a little while for the build. The 9Velo wheels have to get built.

7
I can find plenty of 165mm cranks but all are 52-36. And DUB

I would get one at 50-34 and 24mm spindle

8
Everything ordered.

  • 9Velo wheels. Used the Hambini 10% off.
    Hambini BB
Ali Express for Lizard Skin bar tape, Ryet 3D saddle, carbon bottle cage holders, TPU tubes, pedals, chain stay protector
Facebook market place got a brand new Dura Ace 9200 groupset for half price after an aborted build by a guy
Transferring the 165 cranks off my BMC and will put the 170s back on to sell it

tyres the only thing I bought local and found a 10% coupon for P7 Pirellis.

9
Probably just lower supply because of the outdated standard of 170+ cranks
no it is the correct size for short people.

11
Finalised my part purchases for a build. Only needed to buy a seat and tyres locally. The savings are immense. There's something very wrong and out of control when for the price of a new bicycle, you could have got a 890cc Yamaha. It ain't our problem retailers, importers etc cannot get their suppliers to manage their costs.

Check out Merlin cycles. They have the best prices on shimano and actually have sales on the Di2 stuff.  Usually their groups come with a crank but you could always sell it. They rival Ali express in price and for me in the US at least the shipping is like 2 days vs a a few weeks.  Plus it is all legit and covered by warranty since it is an actual shop selling it.

Otherwise just search Ali express ad piece together what you want. Most sellers tend to have and then not have stock so I have to source from different ones each time I am looking.

Yeah good point. Been waiting 4 months for Merlin to get 165mm cranks. So I guess I could just suck it up and sell the 170s when they arrive

After long deliberation and a lot of comparisons, ordered the C5 in Roubaix colour. Any tips on Ali Express sites for groupsets appreciated. Looking for wireless Di2 Ultegra. Probably will not worry about a crankset because will get a Magene spider power meter.

hope it will last a thousand miles...

issues on the build process;
1. Routing the FD cable is a bit of problem but able to run on the bottom of BB.
2. BB thread is clean unlike the many VBR218 issues.
3. I forgot to consider the expander thickness on top of steerer tube so I do cut twice ;D
4. I put a bit of spacer in the base of rear brake instead of sanding the inner side to avoid delaminating the paint.
5. I overtighten(5nm) my seatpost bolts at first try that left some paint crack :'( i hope it's a not a problem later on. It's okay now, not sliding down anymore.
6. Bleeding the brakes and alignment is one hell of experience  ;D
7. Aligning the RD is easier than the FD :D

initial ride(20kms) feel is stiff and maybe i am too excited to push which i felt lighter than my all-rounder bike(7.8kg SL4 copy ;D)... let me try to some hill climb to compare...

Thanks for posting those links to the groupsets. Been looking for guidance. Well done ;D
