Anyone else running the 26int/33ext rims with 30mm Pirelli P Zero SL-R TLRs seeing sidewall wear when cornering hard?
It looks like the tread just isn’t quite wide enough for this rim/tire combo. I also saw on Bicycle Rolling Resistance that they measured the 28mm version as actually having a wider tread than the 30mm, which seems a bit odd and makes me wonder if that’s part of what’s going on here.
I’ve attached a few photos of my tires. I’ve only done two crits on them, both with mostly left-hand corners, and you can already see pretty clear wear extending down the left side. I’m curious whether this is something Pirelli has seen before and whether they’re likely to address it.
Bit of a shame, because apart from that they’ve been great — fastest tires I’ve used, and no punctures so far after 1,600 km.
