Even though you’ve put it rather harshly, I do agree with you to some extent. However, the sheer volume and number of models released by Winspace do give the impression that they’ve been put together without much thought or a clear concept.

A white frame with a holo effect font always looks so good!
You cant place the logo quite that high, because the frame flattens out a bit towards the fork. Thats why the lettering has to end before that point, otherwise the spacing from the bottom edge of the down tube will be uneven. The AI has also altered the frame shape slightly. Thats why I fired up Photoshop.  8)

I see your point. But its the same lettering as on the rims. Yes, you could easily mistake the half-x for a v. However, Im not suggesting we redesign the logo for Peter from scratch. At least the existing logo establishes a link to the rims: ‘Oh, it’s the same lettering. The frame must be from the same manufacturer as the rims.’ Branding is often about simplicity and recognisability within ones own product range.

First of all, thanks for the positive feedback on my last mock-up. So here is a second, slightly improved version.

I really liked the choice of the word ‘aerys’, but the font didnt match the ‘XMCS’ on the rims. You cant please everyone but the fact that the majority would prefer a frame without any branding shows that the current concept isnt quite right yet. I very much hope that the latest logo posted by requiem doesnt get the green light, as it again doesnt match the font on the rims and lacks a consistent design language. The ENVE logo, even though its just as intricate, is symmetrical and simple, making it very pleasing to the eye. The proposed font is very obtrusive, looks cheap and lacks a timeless appeal.

I hope more care is put into the design as (for me) branding is just as much a part of a good frame as the quality or the lay-up.

Edit: I just want to make clear that Im simply trying to help. The GRT and VRT frames look great otherwise, Ive already seen them in Frankfurt at the weekend.

It’s a shame it didn’t work out with Aerys. Personally, I think the new logo is awful. However, I don’t think selling the frame without a logo is a good idea, as brand image is one of the few areas where Western brands are still currently superior. Many consumers want a recognisable logo with a consistent design language. I’m no different. Frames without a logo are strongly associated with the cheaper end of the market.

Here is my idea for a logo concept. I think the logo on the rims is very good, so in my opinion it would look just as good on the frame. It’s simple, it’s already recognisable thanks to the wheels, and it’s visually appealing enough for the western market.

I wish it were the new LCG072 frame too. But it just isn’t. It’s the LCR018 frame. Take a look at both frames in the LightCarbon catalogue. The transition from the top tube to the seat tube, the thickness of the seat tube, the small wings at the fork ends, the absence of a Speedsniffer and the shape of the rear triangle all clearly point to the 018.
Sorry mate, I’m also hoping for a proper release of the 072.

His split frame looked more like the LCR018. Take a look at the transition between the seat tube and the top tube. The LCG072 has more of a 90-degree angle.
