You're talking about XC racers. Yes most are still using 100mm bikes but with much slacker head tubes. Nino's Scott has a 68.5 degree head tube angle and a stand up 73.8 degree seat tube. Most pleasure riders that are buying chiner bikes are buying "trail" bikes. A little more travel and slacker frames. That's what's trending. I started on XC hardtail bikes and now I rider harder than ever on slacker more travel trail bikes. My M06 is probably the best bike i've been on and that's me being a fan of and have ridden on Pivot Cycles. Times and geometries have changed...........
