27.5 "Downcountry" Frame
« on: August 24, 2022, 09:08:23 AM »
I'm looking for a 67-68* HA hardtail frame that can run 27.5x2.35 tires (FS would be okay, but I actually want a hardtail).  I bought a "cheap" Specialized hardtail last year and, as I wore out parts, replaced them all with Shimano XT, Stans Flow Rims, etc.

I cracked one of the seatstays on my aluminum frame and now I have $2k worth of parts, with no bike to hang them on.

"Perfect" geometry would be 67.5 HTA, 450mm reach, 325mm chainstays, and 506 Axle to Crown.  At this point, I'm open to any suggestions, I'm just having a really hard time finding something that would work.

I'm looking for 100-120 mm travel and - even though it's an old standard, I'd love QR hubs (I can buy new hubs if I have to).

Any thoughts or ideas?  Right now, I'm looking at a Carbonda FM936 or an ICAN S3, but they're both full sus, which means going a "little" over budget!

You might want to change your title from "Downcountry" to "Hardtail", or at least include both.  To me, "downcountry" means a full suspension light trail bike.

Did you check the FM-1306 from Carbonda?

It is 69° but with a 120mm it should be slacker.
I'm waiting for two right now.
