Mongolian UCI team running all-chinese bikes

I was browsing procyclingstats and stumbled upon a mongolian team. Opened the gear page to see what kind of bikes and had a nice surprise:

Just wanted to share because I found that very interesting. Mongolia fascinates me and as a geoguessr veteran I would love to see the roads they train on... Any insight?

Pretty sweet build, I wonder how competitive they are? I love the color matched calipers as well.

I've been to Mongolia several times. The roads and traffic in the capital are terrible. The winters are extremely harsh, so that only leaves late spring and summer to train outdoors. Outside the city, they do have some beautiful country roads with miles of grassland and small towns in-between. Along the way you can see old Soviet relics from their communist era. I'd probably prefer using a gravel bike or a MTB frame though to get around.

The only option that would make sense for a Mongolian team to train year round would probably be going to Thailand during the winter. They have visa free travel between the two countries, Thailand winters is their dry season and general expenses would be much lower.

That Onirii frameset or complete bike build can be found on their AliExpress official store, but I'm wondering if they have a different spec'ed setup using Sensah Empire? The AliEx version in my opinion is better spec'ed with Shimano 105 hydraulic. I've actually been eyeballing that frame just because it's almost as lightweight as the standard Aethos, but at a fraction of the price. Though I already have too many road bikes in my stable as-is.

Same frame from this seller, but much cheaper and they offer paint jobs without logo. Though you have to buy the thru axles separately.

It's great to see cycling grow in Asia. It means many of these affordable framesets and parts are getting properly field tested. The Philippines seems to be booming when it comes to cycling, especially the gravel scene. In fact some of the cycling YT'ers there have bigger viewership than their western counterparts.

I just like seeing the cycling scene in other countries. Some of these YT'ers showcase the roadie and especially the gravel scene in the Philippines. Plus I find it more interesting seeing the locals ride versus some tourist thinking they're the first cyclist to ever ride in a particular country.

I noticed on the UCI page for the Mongolian team, in 2024 they will be team Ferei Quick-Panda Podium. I wonder if Panda Podium will start selling the Onirii frames. Or, possibly more likely, the team will start riding on the Tavelo Frames instead of Onirii.
