Shimano RD Cage Compatibility (7150/7000)
« on: July 03, 2024, 07:25:32 AM »
Is the r7000 cage compatible with r7150 rd? Not listed in shimano website.
Short story: I bent my r7150 cage due to incorrect setup.
While waiting for the replacement parts i temporarily fit the r7000 cage albeit shorter it is working and even shifting flawelessly.

Just wondering will there be any issue of using the r7000 cage with the r7150 rd? If all good will just leave this and cancel my replacement order.

From the photo, I have a hard time believing it shifts flawlessly. That chain doesn't just need a link or two extra, it needs half a mile long chain added to it.

Di2 is pretty easy to program to avoid the extremes of cross chaining.

Whoa, you didn't properly size your chain before going big-big? I always work my way down the chain links if I'm not sure about the size just to avoid this problem.

Why don't you take apart your 105 Di2 cage and take a picture so we can see if matches up with an R7000 or aftermarket cage setup?
