Cheers for the update. They sound good enough. Especially given the price. Have you tried any of the other cable actuated hydro brakes on Ali?
Only very briefly - my brother bought ZTTO ones a year ago or so, and they were rather disappointing, definitely weaker than the Spyres and possibly weaker than the (also mechanical) Revers his bike came with  :-X

TRP HY/RD are decent. The pistons adjust as the brake pads wear. I'm presuming the Tanke version should work the same? For cable actuated hydraulic brakes, I do prefer Juin Tech F1s. You have to adjust them yourself, but you can fine dial just how close they are to the rotor.

Ugh thats good to know. I was considering blind buying some when i saw the these HY/RDs knock offs. It's hard to know which is which though given they're all sold under multiple brands with subtle variations (Muqzi, Onirii, zoom, zrace etc).

The price difference between any Juin Tech and the Tanke's is quite large. Even the Spyres are three times the price where i am. If the Tankes get anywhere near acceptable and decent performance they'd be a great deal.

I was eyeing up some of the many Juin Tech copies but it sounds like they're not worth buying at all.

*edit, found some more info here http://chinertown.com/index.php/topic,2985.msg22577/topicseen.html#msg22577

And found some knock off Spyres too https://vi.aliexpress.com/item/1005006826680291.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.pcDetailBottomMoreOtherSeller.20.2cd5UwgFUwgFtS&gps-id=pcDetailBottomMoreOtherSeller&scm=1007.40050.354490.0&scm_id=1007.40050.354490.0&scm-url=1007.40050.354490.0&pvid=a39d110d-4f29-4a8c-8b35-a29001d3a24f&_t=gps-id:pcDetailBottomMoreOtherSeller,scm-url:1007.40050.354490.0,pvid:a39d110d-4f29-4a8c-8b35-a29001d3a24f,tpp_buckets:668%232846%238112%231997&utparam-url=scene%3ApcDetailBottomMoreOtherSeller%7Cquery_from%3A

Has anyone tried the knockoff Growtac Equal disc brakes?  I've been really happy with the performance of the knockoff Klampers, so I was curious about these.

I received my Kocevlo stem with integrated cabling. I opted for the package with spare headset bearings. For a stem, it's heavy coming in at about 200+ grams without the headset spacers. The screws are like 3g a piece, so I swapped those out for some titanium screws, but the whole thing is still hefty. Tthe positive is the ability to change out the bars and adjust the angle. I'm still waiting on the frame that I'm going to use these on!

Paul Components "Klamper" Brakes

Review: 8/10
Details: I got these back in December 2023 and have been riding them for almost a year.  I am completely satisfied with them.  They are paired with SRAM rotors and SRAM Rival levers, with the Kool Stop pads ordered from Paul Comp.  From day one, I've gotten excellent braking and modulation from them.  Before them, i was running hydro-mechanical disc brakes, and these have a smoother action.  Adjustments have been simple, and overall "set it and forget it".  One thing I did notice is that the parts specs are slightly different than real Paul Components Klampers.  I ordered orange anodized adjusters from Paul, and when they arrived, they would not mount onto these knockoffs.  Overall, I would recommend these without hesitation, and at currently $70 a set on Ali, I'd consider them a good value for the money.

Here's my payback.

Took a while to find actually.

Full pre-cut helicopter tape kits for Road and MTB (road linked). Seller also does full kits for groupsets, cranks and wheels. About the same price as some sheets of heli tape!

For my gravel bike, I don't care for fancy SPD pedals. I've been using these and they work fine for the way I ride. For less than $10 USD, you can't go wrong!

Has anyone tried these narrow drop bars? They come in 30cm to 40cm width in the hoods.

Having tried both the protection roll tape and pre-cut clear protection decal/stickers, I much prefer the pre-cut material. The clear decals adhere smoothly and the adhesive doesn't get sticky. Once placed on a bike frame, they clean up nicely with a heat gun. I just bought a few sheets from Pick 3 & Save.

I'm referring to the clear protection stickers:

Are there any super lightweight SPD pedals? Best I've found is a chonky 360g.

Onirii make some 200~210 ones, theyre good so far, only the grease inside them is quite thick so they don't spin back into neutral position very quick
