Black Friday
« on: October 28, 2022, 05:47:03 AM »
Hey,
I am about to build a China road bike for me and two gravel bikes, for my wife and my father.
Probably I buy all frames from Velobuild (VBR168 and GF002).
For the road bike I will buy a Shimano Ultegra Di2 complete group and for the gravel bikes it probably comes down to Sensah. The wheels should come from Elitewheels.

Have there been good Black Friday deals from these manufacturers in the last years?
What do you expect this year?

If you think there will be good deals, I would hold off on ordering.
A friend also said that there will be more discounts again on brand-bikes from the beginning of next year.
What do you think?

There will be sales on Aliexpress starting tomorrow. Elitewheels normally has some promo's, but don't expect too much :)

You should be able to find sensah parts cheaper from tomorrow. There is also 5 USD off for every 30 USD spent (max 15 usd) so that will give some extra savings.

11/11 is like the Chinese black Friday so expect to find the best deals around then. If you are fast you can find some good sitewide aliexpress coupons but coupons from individual sellers never seem to be that amazing.

I just ordered 2 of these rims: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001357708166.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.0.0.690b1802etqdQB

Ordered them both separately so I got the 15 USD discount twice. 103USD/EUR per rim...

It's quite courageous to order rims from a random seller on aliexpress, I'd be a bit scared myself!

Peter is offering good deals on both road and gravel wheels, it's the post talking about OEM wheels on the forum from 2-3 weeks ago. I'll probably order from him myself. In the past i've bought from Farsports, but they're more expensive. He and his company have been posting on and off on this forum for many years so I'm assuming they are a serious company, and they say they have a warranty system in place.

Fast on the flat. And nowhere else.

They have good reviews, so I hope they are OK :) I have built a wheelset with comparable rims but 28x28mm size and they are holding up great (1 year in use now).

There has been already a delay with the shipping of the rims. They say they do not have the 24h in stock and have to make them first. 2 week delay... Communication is OK.

I ordered a pair of these 4 days ago. (Want to build up another set of lighter narrower wheels for a 29er hardtail for gravel grinding and easy single track use.)

Last time I saw really good 11-11 deals for bicycle parts/frames was before Covid.  Often, if they don't sell enough during the 11-11 sale, they will discount the items for real closer to Christmas timeframe, and often keep the same prices  after 11-12.

I ordered a ton of stuff the last few days. I decided to build a XC hardtail and ordered nearly all the parts off Ali except for the derailleur, cassette and chain (is gonna be Sram GX), the brakes (propably Deore) and the fork.

I ordered a OG Evkin CF-052 frame. It seems to be the last one in 17" they had. They told me they stopped production.
