Author Topic: Carbon gravel fork that allows 180mm rotors with flat mount calipers  (Read 217 times)

I'm using this carbon fork on my current gravel bike and I can confirm this fork allows 180mm disc rotors with standard flat mount calipers (if using the 160mm adapter plate). Since I started using 180mm front disc on my gravel bike, the brake performance has been much better especially on mountain trail downhills. The only downside with this fork is that 45c tires are the max size.

I found this fork in both full internal and semi-internal cable routing depending on the gravel bike. You can see the disc mount holes are offset higher for 180/160mm disc as opposed to 160/140mm disc rotors. I'm also starting to seen a few gravel framesets come included with this fork.

Hope this helps for those who want better braking performance without the use of bulky and/or expensive adapters.

Another way of having 180mm on normal flatmounts or even 203mm rotors(the fork probably wont survive it) on yours by using brake adapter shenanigans. Flatmount 160 to postmount 160 with postmount to flatmount +20mm adapter. OFC it is not safe at all.

Yeah that's what I'm trying to avoid! Plus it doesn't look very good at all.   ;D
