Do you mean headset?  I don't want to try and swap out the head tube :)

I have the Neco headset in my -057, and it works fine.  The steer tube is aluminum so I could have used the star nut, but I used the expanding plug that came with the Neco.

1'' 1/8 to 1'' 1/2 headset i think is what your talking about. Tapered. So without knowing what you mean exactly you would need the fork that works with your headset/frame.

Aliexpress sells the necos cheap if you never got one from your supplier. Or you can pay a bit more and get it local?
NECO's headset has also worked out fine for me. Needed to replace bearings after one year..Probably didn't NEED to either.

On these internal bearing headsets, it doesn't make much sense to spend more than necessary for one. Its just two bearings. Use the one the frame comes with and put the money towards other parts.

If you wanna go with the Cane Creek 40 series. Then I will advice you to buy the Cane Creek 110 Crown Race separate. I'm planning to do that myself, when I begin to build my bike.

The Cane Creek 40 series is all aluminium except the crown race, which is steel. When steel is rusting, it causes aluminium (steerer tube) to corrode when staying wet. The Cane Creek 110 Crown Race is aluminium, and it got dual sealing.

Has anyone used the Aerozine headsets that seem to be good value on eBay in the required tapered size?
