Paint a UD matte black fork?
«

Hi guys!
I'm just wondering if I can paint directly onto the UD matte black fork I got from xmiplay, or do I need to sand it down or something?
The color Im going for is Pearl White.
Any thoughts?
Cheers,
Chris

It would be a good idea to prep the surface regardless. Why take the chance? A poor prep will ruin a good paint job.

Thank you for your reply!
So gently sand it down a bit you think?
Will most likely deliver it to a car paint shop, to make sure it will get the same color as my frame (Pearl white).

The paint on the fork looks to be a thin coat of matte black. Prepping the surface correctly will get rid of the surface imperfections and help the paint adhere better. The majority of the cost when you pay a paint shop is the prepping of the part.

Think I will just leave it alone, and let the paint shop do all the work then..
Thank you again for your input!
