29+ boost rigid forks with ~495-500mm A-C?
« on: January 30, 2019, 04:30:34 AM »
Hi!
I'm looking for a boost rigid fork that has clearance for 29x2.8 tyres, and a slightly longer axle to crown than the usual ~480mm. Something in the 495-500mm range would be perfect.

I found this style of fork on eBay and Ali:

The problem is, some are listed by no feedback sellers for suspiciously cheap, and some are listed by I guess reputable sellers but in the $170-200 range which is dangerously close or over the limit where I would need to pay MASSIVE import taxes. I need to stay under $170 (that includes shipping but it's usually free) but the cheaper the better. I don't want to stay just a hair under the limit in case they convert the currencies somewhat differently and I get screwed over because i'm over the limit by a cent or something...

It seems like this style of fork is somewhat newer? The market is full of Niner RDO clones that cost around a 100 bucks.

I'm just not sure where to look but i'm new to Chiner stuff, could you guys recommend some good brands that are maybe not on Ali or eBay?

I have this on my CS-496 29+ bike. Using 29x3.0 Surly Dirt Wizards.

Carbon Speed have a very good reputation here. I have done several transactions with them. But Peter of Carbon Speed is currently on holiday break though, he won't be back 'til Feb. 15.

Here's what it looks like on my rig.

Thanks, looks amazing! Much better than the boxy fork I posted.

I'll shoot him an email, hopefully we can work something out for shipping because my country is not on the list.
