What's coming in 2019

I've got a little intel to share, but I'd love to hear what others have heard from agents I may not interact with as much.

Pro-Mance is finishing up 3D drawings of a bike inspired heavily by the Scott Ransom. This should be available later this spring. They are also hoping to get on the trail bandwagon with a long and slack model, and I've been pushing them hard to be original. Specifically, I've advocated for a slacker HTA, shorter chainstays, higher BB, and steeper STA. I've given them specific numbers and aesthetic design tips. They seemed enthusiastic and we are keeping in touch.

TanTan hopes to release "more new MTB models", specifically full-suspension with trail-optimized travel (120mm - 130mm).

We've just got a barrage of aero road frames from TanTan, Pro-Mance, and ICAN, so they are really interested in mountain right now.

Do you think we can see a trail 29er, something like 100-120mm travel, with a real long reach and slack HTA (typically intense sniper inspired), coming before the summer?

It would be nice to see some true trail and enduro class frames show up.  Already, the big name leaders in the industry are developing some amazing stuff.  Mixed travel specs in FS is becoming common place. I'm seeing 120 front with 100 rear in some XC bikes now.  And in trail, they are blending into enduro class.  I rented a Pivot Switchblade (150F 135R) and took it to Bear Creek.  Climbed the mountain on it and descended Bear, P1 and P2.  Heck, I got a PR on P2 by 2 1/2 minutes!  Yeti has the SB130 which is a 150/130.  Santa Cruz HighTower comes 140/135...  Even in trail class, 130F/120R are becoming more common.  what's nice is the mixed setups feel nimble and agile for their class but will gobble up tougher terrain and feel like a bigger and more capable bike where the trail demands it.

I sure hope some new stuff starts showing up in these classes.

These manufacturers are probably hauling ass now, design- and prototype-wise, as the next Taiwan Cycle Show is next month.

Personally, I flashed on the BMC Fourstroke 2019... but couldn't spend a crazy 3000€ for a frame.
I have the impression known brands are much more creative this last year, and our usual Chinese providers seem out-dated.
The same applies, even more with road bikes.

The 29" geo isn't so bad, either.  Niner hit a home run with both wheelsizes.

Well still no new intel on the Scott Ransom look-alike.  All I can say is that the Pro-Mance M7007-II was designed after the Scott Spark, and it did turn up with very similar geometry numbers but slightly different looks.  Different enough, in fact, that the Spanish brand Megamo was able to market and buy out the frame in much of western Europe.

I'd expect the Scott Ransom look-alike to be similar to the M7007-II in terms of aesthetics, but very similar to the Ransom geo numbers, if not identical.

I like the look of the M7007-II.  I'm more concerned about whether or not they can match the kinematics as well as the geo.   

I hope they show up at the Taipei Cycle Show with this new frame.  Even a 3-D printed prototype is fine.
