Dropper seat post on a IP-256SL with internal cabling?

I am waiting for my  IP-256SL to arrive and wonder if I can use a dropper seat post on a IP-256SL with internal cabling (not hydraulic)

It will be 1x10, no FD and hope I can use the FD cable hole  for the dropper cable and end up in the seat tube..

I think the answer is no, it can't.
All the internal cables are running through the down tube, none of them are going through the upper tube.
If you had used a FD, the FD could handle down pull, because the FD cable is coming from below.

But the cable has to go in the downtube and then into the seat tube
The upper tube won't work because the cable has to come from below.

Is the cable long enough to go through the down tube and the seat tube all that way ?

I suppose it is because it is the way it should be done.

And if it is to short just replace it by a longer cable...

Hmmm, okay. In that case. If you look to the bracket, you see that the bracket have some holes. If you don't use a FD, it is very easy than. But I don't know if there's enough space when the BB is installed.

Very interested in this discussion about the dropper post on the 256. I've been wondering the same thing

I take a look today and is it's possible to place stealth dropper post.

In the first picture, you can see a hose. Picture is take from the top of the seat post tube to the BB.
In the second picture, you can see the hose through the BB.

I still want to get myself an internally routed dropper seatpost and I will have to drill the entrance meant for the front mech.
I read somewhere that there is an aluminium insert there?

I already had a cable in from the headtube all the way out of the seattube:

It will be necessary to remove the bottom bracket and the headset but so be it.

I would prefer a cable actuated dropper with 150 mm travel but the only one that is available is the Kind Shock Lev Integra which has a weight restriction: 90 kg
And thats what I weigh with gear.
The Yep Uptimizer is not available in 155 mm yet.
The Rock Shock Reverb Stealth is another option, I don't like that it is hydraulic..and I wonder how difficult it will install.

Are there any other options that I overlooked?

While I still had the BB out.
I left a metalic cable entering the hole at the right of the frame.
Taped. And waiting in the other end in the seat tube.
Passing on top of the BB.

I'd like to put the Reverb stealth.
What do you have against hydraulic?

The cable is strong enough to pull the hydraulic hose through the frame, and make the V turn over the BB, I guess.
Hopefully, without having to dismantle the BB.

I'll probably do this in the fall.
Please let us know what you do in the end.

I don't mind taking the BB out, another advantage of BSA....

Although.....I like my new bike so much that I want to ride it every day

I would prefer a cable actuated dropper, easier to install, no bleeding and easier to take out if you want to have a light bike for a race..

Who can tell me more about drilling the FD entrance to fit a 4.5 mm cable??
