1 year update! Non drive side picture oops, the climb was very long for me haha. My riding is 50/50 lift access janky park stuff and trail riding. The 947 has been perfect, definitely saved me from some sketchy lines several times. The frame also survived a few big crashes and came away with only a few scratches. It's been problem free as well, apart from the linkage changing colour on me. I re-painted it over the winter and it looks pretty good for a rattle can job. Had no problem disassembling and reassembling the linkage. I also added sound dampening foam to all the internal cables and it made a huge difference. I would definitely recommend adding them to any new build.

I also upgraded to a nukeproof horizon enduro saddle and that was worth it as well. It's a low height saddle so it helps get it out of the way when the dropper is down.

I completely agree on sound damping foam, it makes so much difference.
Once i installed foam after getting annoyed rattling noise on bounce test, I was like that should be done by factory.
how did you managed to keep slx crankset that clean tho?
My 7100 is a mess, easily scratched on both sides even the slx logo

When i lift the rear end of the bike up, i can feel there is a small amount of play in the rear linkage and a very small clunk noise can be heard. It is very small, but still there. I figured out like i said previously that the mounting bolt for the rear shock is a bit too small in diameter for the shock bushing, even though i am 100% i got the right size bushing kit. Does anyone else have that? Maybe it is a problem with my frame/hardware that came with it?

I have recently built up a medium size lcfs947 and encountered this play, at the lower shock mount, when lifting up the bike. I can actually feel/hear this play when descending rooty and rough downhills. Has anyone else encountered this and come up with a solution?

As far as i understand, your lower shock bolt is smaller in diameter for the 10x30 hardware. I believe manufacturing tolerance wasn't correct.

So, maybe remove rear shock and try installing the bolt,  inspect the fit, any small play will be quite noticeable on the bike.

You should be able to push the bolt with a slight force.

If gravity pulls the bolt all the way in the hardware you may need a replacement bolt.
I recently purchase/build this frame and i had some hard time to install the lower bolt and shock wasn't even on the bike.
Although my complaint is the opposite, i was able to fit it eventually.
They may have change the tolerance for new batches, it is not the best fit for me but it works for now.

I also want to give a tip,
When installing multiple bolts like pivot arms shock bolt and trunnion, keep them slightly loose until all the bolts are installed.
Then you can torque the bolts and like all the sequential tightening systems double check the torques after finishing first pattern.
This method saved me lot of time & headache. Hope that helps to you guys.

I don't have any play either, the shock bolt sits tight in the frame and on the shock, actually so tight the coating on the bolt has shaved a little from pulling it out. I haven't ridden the frame yet so I don't know if its something that could come later tho.

I have this frame in size large and has the same issue with play.  My lower shock bolt was slightly under sized.  So I purchased some aluminum tubing with a 10mm OD and a 5mm ID which is the correct hole size for an m6 tap.  I cut it to length and tapped each end.  Red lock tight on one bolt and some never seize on the other.  The tubing came in at 9.95mm vs the 9.72mm on my stock bolt.  The play is gone and I even saves a few grams over the stock steel bolt.  Total cost was about 20.

Took the lower mount apart and took a few measurements. Initial thoughts are true- the bolt is indeed out of tolerance for a good fit to the shock mounting sleeve.
The QC seems off enough that the bolt tapers in diameter as it gets closer to the bolt head.

• Fox mounting hardware sleeve inner diameter is about 0.395"
• Smallest diameter of the bolt is 0.388
  
• Difference is 0.007" or about 0.2mm

I guess you purchased the frame recently same as i did, that means LC knew the issue and improved on the previous bolt. I ridden the frame and still no play, not yet at least.
Mine also looks slightly scratched, but thats only the paint. Better than being smaller i guess.

Zero play in my “m” frame. Just installed a new superdeluxe to get rid of the DPS and still no issues.

I had play in mine and also measured the bolt to be smaller than the shock bushing.  I ended up using a shim cut from a aluminum beer can to take up the play.  It is fine for now but I have also reached out to Lightcarbon.

I reached out to light carbon on this before I made my own fix and was very politely told that it was with in spec.   If anyone else gets the same response and want to go down the path I took let me know.  I have extra bar stock and can make you one.  Just PM me.
