hi there,
what kind of chamois Lameda use?
i have some van rysel, and i'm looking for alternatives to the Elastic Interface chamois.
for me it's too wide, and i find it uncomfortable. it also causes some irritation.
thanks for the info.

Get it from Amazon to try for both sizing and quality. Then if you like it either keep one OR get it from AE. but amazon prices are pretty good for these and the fast delivery / returns are a blessing comparing to AE.

unfortunately it's kind of trial and error, maybe try feeling the point of contact where is the discomfort and irritation, and try looking for a different shape of chamois or bib (the seams for example)
but for the irritation I'd say it's worth trying a chamois cream, for me it works wonders for longer rides, and for when I ride everyday

the difficult part is that comfort and irritation are very personal. the way your body fits and interacts with the bib will be key for both, and that depends on the model and brand, bib size, as well as other factors...

Lameda uses different chamois suppliers depending on the model (just like most brands). Looking at AliE, at least 1 model uses EI.
I own the Starlight model which uses a 'VeonInsert' chamois, this model is also sold by PandaPodium.
I gotta say it's by favorite bib right now, very comfortable and the fabric has a different feel, it's very nice. As reference, I own some Darevie, a number of Ykyw bibs, and a Spexcel one that was tied as my top one until I crashed and it got ripped - now it's relegated to indoor rides only.

Got a link to those? It's the same insert that Cheji uses and also by far my favorite.
Slow on the climb. And everywhere else.

I got it from a 'Sports Choice Mega Store' in one of those flash sales, so sharing the link won't make sense :( also it was 1yr ago so probably doesn't even work anymore
even though Lameda is usually more expensive, I got it for a good price. I suggest taking a look at the Lameda official store, and then keep a look out for the sales that appear as recommendations
the Starlight is the cheapest model I think, it's the one with a 'no crown no glory' writing in the back

Define good and then compactable lol :)
IF you want it to breath and therefore NOT get went from inside and outside then you need to spend large $$$$$
IF you want just something for emergency, just get the Castelli Emergency jacket. I have it, its cheap and it works great. Folds small enough and fits great. I dont mind getting a bit sweaty if it means that I dont get cold from the rain, but even that, you have to work pretty hard for it not to breath if the temps are in mid teens C.

What I am looking for is comparable to shakedry. Will the one you have fit in a jersey pocket ? I have a $300 Castelli that keeps me dry buy does not pack down enough to fit in a bag.

This is what I have.

Fits in a palm of you hand. Goes into any pocket of a jersey easy.

Also, you cannot compare ANYTHING out there now to the so much loved shakedry.

;D well..i bought 3 different endura rain jackets in the last 4-5 years. They were fine until you used them a couple of times. Now they are all crap. That's amazing. I would have thought Scottish people know how to handle rain. Well maybe real Scotts just don't even know how rain jacket is spelled...  ;D

Not looking for the price, just the model since they have different inserts. Could not find anything with that search term. Found a few 'no crown no glory' but all having other inserts. Unfortunately, the Lameda official store does not have any offerings for Germany (could not get anything to show for other countries either). So link would still be appreciated just to see the model - even if it is not available for sale anymore or the price might be outrageous.

I bought the HISERWA Cycling Rain Jacket MTB Road Windproof Waterproof Raincoat Lightweight Breathable Bike Windbreaker Bicycle Jersey Shirts a few months ago. Took it out on a few rides but luckily had no need to actually wear it so far. It's small enough to fit in my back pocket easily. Size is kinda small (see reviews), so maybe size up one. It is ABSOLUTELY NOT breathable. So you will get sweaty even on a coffee ride pace. Given the price, I did not expect anything better than a "t-shirt shaped plastic bag" which I think is a fair description. I got it on sale for 11.23 USD. So to answer your question: compactable yes; good, well depends on your definition: will keep you dry from outside but not from the inside. (TBF even the most expensive rain jackets have trouble in this scenario even with "breathable fabrics" due to the physics in play).
