Any recommendations for Bib shorts with cargo pockets? I got the ones from Decathlon and they are okish and i'm willing to try others to find a good fit.

I'm honestly blown away how good those are for the price

oh ok! for reference then, this is the model https://pt.aliexpress.com/item/1005007474181283.html
see if it works, this is the image of the pad: https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/Seabbcadd4a194ce7a0a048d246c88c90H.jpg

Yes the links work. It's a different pad (blue) than what I have in my favorite Cheji pants (red). Hard to tell the exact differences but I think the red is rated for even longer rides. If that is more or less comfortable is hard to judge without testing. Might give it a try. Thanks for sharing!

I love the red pad in my chejis. Taking them out for a big spin tomorrow. But so far they feel better than my assos!

The Cheji red pads are awesome! I always grab them both for indoor and outdoor rides!

Wishing they'd release a similar cargo bibs as well :(

Could someone link to these bibs with the great pad? I'm reading lots of messages and i find it very confusing. Cheji gone from AliX, then back, back but it's not them, and "i got in during a sale and so now it's gone", and it's that pad and it's that product but it's not that product, or it's that product but with a different pad, so can someone please link a bib with the pad people are saying such good things about? And is it the red one, if so are there several red ones, or the green one?

For reference, that's my gold standard: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004962411304.html, because of the pad. It's foam not gel, it's dense, and uniform thickness all the way to the front. Because most of my riding is on the flat, i appreciate the extra support on the front as it helps stay in aero position. And it's cheap. I bought many of these for me and friends, everybody likes it. There's also a long leg version with the same pad that's very nice for winter.
But if i can get extra comfort for a bit more money, i'm definitely interested.

Thanks!

I wonder if there are multiple red Cheji pads? I have a pair of Cheji bib shorts with a red pad, and the pad is average at best.

What made people think the new cheji store is not them/fake? I bought from them and I think the green pad is great

I also have your gold standard (branded ykwkwhateverbike) and found the pad to be a little worse. (although what makes me not use it much is the awful seams rubbing)

i recently got this LAMEDA jersey on sale and i love it! they fit great, feels like aero-ish but stretches a bit to your body shape. not too thin, just enough that it doesn't look see through and the pockets don't sag

the bib is nice but that red pad seems rough-ish to me. i have a similar pad from thinkrider but it was grey and i didn't like that, was prone to chafing even when using chamois creme.

I know that many people speak highly of the Cheji bibs. I purchased two pairs and didn't like either of them. I wore each once and then gave them away because I knew that I would never reach into my kit drawer and choose them among the others I have.

The premium YKYW bibs have been the best I have found on Alix so far. I would purchase those again if the prices ever come back down.

Experience has taught me that there are lots of places to save money. Bibs and brakes are not those places. Buy the good stuff.

Can you please link to that product? AliExpress is such a minefield, and as we learned with Steven Seagal, assumption is the mother of all fuck ups.

Did you order them for this exact offer or from a different one previously? Because I had a longer chat with said dealer, and I am 100% sure now the shop is a fake. Whatever they are selling are not the "real" Cheji bibs I ordered last year. There is no Cheji shop on AE anymore. All those offers are fakes.

--------

Edit: I reached out to Cheji via their email address on their website asking why they left AE a few weeks ago. They actually pointed me to their new store. So I retract my previous statement about this shop being fake. It seems to be the same seller. However, they left the AE choice program which means less sale offers and additional shipping costs. For me the prices nearly doubled comparing with last year which is a bummer.

Since there was some confusion about the AE Cheji store, I reached out to them outside of AE to confirm what's going on. I edited my previous statement. They indeed seem legit - just prices are less attractive for me now :/

Regarding their pads: they use only two. The red one and that green one that was posted earlier. I only have bibs with the red pad, so cannot speak about the other. FOR ME the red pad is the absolute GOAT. And I am comparing against "good" brands like Vermarc and Bioracer (this one is about equal but was about 5x the price).

But just because it is GOAT for me, does not mean it will be nice for everyone. Our butts might be different shape, different saddles, and probably most important different riding position. For reference, I have a big ass, wide pelvis, a somewhat narrow saddle at 130mm but ride a lot in an aggressive, forward-leaning position. Often in the aero hoods position for >10m. Thick pads are often restricting in this position: they either put too much pressure on my dong, so it becomes numb or the pad is squished outwards towards my thighs and rubs there. I think that's the main reason I prefer thin but hard pads.

If you ride in a more relaxed, upright position, your needs might be very different and a thicker but softer pad might give you more comfort. In the end, you just have to try for yourself. I went through 8 or 9 different brands until I found 2 that work very well for me. And doesn't matter if it's a 20 or 200 USD bib. The latter just makes the process A LOT more expensive ...
