Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame

So I've started the build this weekend and have a couple of questions. How did you route and secure the gear cable to the FD? The bend from the down tube over the BB to the cable exit is quite tight and there doesn't seem to be anywhere to clip/secure the outer cable to the exit grommet.

Also I have a slightly different handlebar to you guys. Mine has two stem bolts that at the back, however, I cant seem to tighten them together (similar to this handlebar setup at 18:27 [url] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQWYPxGicjU] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQWYPxGicjU][url] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQWYPxGicjU [/url]. When positioned on the stem the two parts don't engage fully so I can't tighten against the stem.

Are you using housing for the shifter cable? I didn't do that at first, but you really have to. Once I added compressionless housing to the cable (including in the internal routing, but right before the exit hole), it all was pretty straightforward. There wasn't a need to clip/secure the outer cable to the exit grommet since it's secured to the FD.

No idea about the handlebar, but I find it funny that we have different ones.

Yes, I'm using cable housing along the whole cable run, I just assumed there would some sort of clip or housing at the FD exit to hold it in place. I was hoping to have all the outer cables in place before I insert the BB, but I'll probably include the inners and secure that to the FD first.

That's what I've been trying. But the threads don't engage the bolt, it looks like the treads are a bit thin on end. I'll try again today. Thanks for the carbon paste tip, I'll add that.

In my (limited) experience with carbon handlebars and stems: replace all (metal) hardware. I couldn’t get my Yoeleo H9 handlebar to stay put (carbon paste and loctite in all the right places). Got some new M5x20mm bolts at the hardware store and hasn’t budged since, even without carbon paste (still using 243 loctite of course).

Can someone confirm if the bolts within the headset expansion and the seat tube can be fully removed, and if so what size/length they are? I'd probably also replace these with Ti options (as well as bottle cage bolts) for weight weeny reasons.

The bolts are fully removable, length is 15mm and diameter is 4mm. You'll need the nuts too. Let me know which bolts you end up getting, I might change mine if I can't get them to work.

It seems like most bolts are 16mm in length minimum, so probably why I'm struggling with mine!

After a lot of e-mail back and forth, mine is now eventually shipped. Hope to receive it soon. My VB-R-168 just arrived, way sooner then i expected. Only took about 8 days from the order until it arrived at my door in Canada. I went for the frame unpainted as i want to do it myself, so thats probably why it shipped so fast.
One question, what tire size are you running that fits well. I want to run Gp-5000 TL 32mm, and velobuild says it has clearance for 32mm. Has anyone actually run those and can confirm they fit without issues?

Has anyone tried adjusting their seatpost after riding around for a bit? It's seemingly stuck for me.

My seatpost was only raised by 1cm or so, and I'm worried that it's slid down since and has been resting on the seat tube.
