Velobuild VB-R-168 Frame

Hi Guys, just finished my SRAM Force AXS Etap build. Unfortunately, my right crankarm is hitting the front derailleur slightly. Did anyone else have that problem before? If so, how do I fix it? I'm using the SRAM Dub Pressfit BB. Thanks for any help!

Hello everyone, I finished my VB-R-168 a few days ago. I've been testing it and I have a little problem with the disc brakes, which are Force AXS. When pedaling standing up and tilting the bicycle, the pads rub slightly. I would like to know if they have happened to them.

Regarding brake rub: try to align the calipers as centered as possible. Its not that uncommon to get brake rub when out  of the saddle.


Which Seatpost hardware did you use? I see you have carbon seat mounting parts, but i cant seem to find fitting ones.

And what searpost gasket are you using? Looks neater than the original Velobuild gasket. Its the original from the SL7?

The calipers are well centered. It only sounds when I get up and move my bike from side to side. She asked in case it was something general and the fork has a little bit of flex.
The rubber is not the original. I put the rubber links and the supports for the carbon seat.

I ordered my VBR 168 two days ago. It will be my second build, the first with disc brakes.

I am collecting everything I need, actually. I got a good black friday offer for a Sram Force eTap and now I am looking for the bottom bracket.

On the Velobuild homepage they write BB86. Is that Pressfit? Which bottom bracket did you use when doing a build with a Sram DUB crankset?

Nice bike,  no ffedback on the rubbing disc, but can suggest to make sure the spokes are tight to the correct tension. some wheel flex is expected when you sprint, but should not be too much to cause rubbing. 
By the way, can you share the specs on your wheels? they look grand!

Mine are also rubbing, even with bike ahead biturbo.
Got the same on specialized venge before.

The wheels are from a company called Carbonal. They have many mounting options and they roll very well, they are good wheels.
Specs are 45mm depth, 18mm internal width, DT240 hubs and Sapim CX-Ray spokes. The rims are tubeless, have no spoke holes, MoMag mount

Hey curious what sizes people went with for this frame.  I'm 5'8" (172.7cm) and trying to pick between a 52-S or a 54-M.  Currently I ride a Canyon Endurace in small but those Canyon sizes are odd & don't really equate to other brands.  Any thoughts?

If it's any help I'm 5'7" (170cm) and ride a 52 with 400x90 one piece bars and 170mm cranks. Never had an issue with the fit of the bike and have always found it comfortable, with the longest ride I done being around 135km.

I've never had a bike fit so got no idea if what I ride is the most optimal position but it does feel okay.

You're pretty much on the cusp, depending on your other measurements. If you like a really low position, consider a small and getting a slightly longer stem, otherwise you could probably go for a medium. Given that you currently ride a a Canyon Endurace, I suspect you'd prefer the higher position of the medium VBR-168 (which is still 24mm lower than the Canyon you currently ride).

A small Canyon Endurace is basically an M in everything else - the M for the VBR-168 is the equivalent size. Here's a useful comparison of a small Canyon Endurace, a small Canyon Ultimate (i.e. similar style allrounder) and the Specialized Tarmac (same as VBR-168):

i would go with small,
the vbr ist long in my oppinion and the seatpost with the offset makes it even longer

Well... after some days on the 168 I was at a bike fitting.
And guess what, my seatpost/seattube also is out of spec and as soon as tightened it points to the right (standing behind the saddle).
As I did not have an aluminum can available I took some stronger plastic (SD card packaging) in there, 2 to be exact. That should equals almost 0,3 mm.
Lessons learned for me: no more aero posts from velobuild
