Was the frame originally painted and you told them the wrong one for the replacement or where you trying for something different and got the wrong one?

I got a custom color on the original frame.  I didn't think the stock gray was that different and I though it would be neat to be a slightly different shade, plus it would ship quicker.  I was wrong, it is sooooo much lighter.

To my surprise the updated version of the rear triangle showed up today.  I did not expect that for a few more months.

How are the two bearings mounted in the eyelets, in terms of how the axial clearance is cancelled?

Nah, I meant that as total price.  It was $220 for just the bare triangle, $20 for paint, and $30 for the cheapest shipping.  Shipping may be a little cheaper right now or they'll just upgrade it for the same price, ended up getting here via UPS.

Ah, good!

I believe you are keeping the bottom link. Let us know how the axial clearance in the pivot between the bottom link and the new triangle is handled. Do you get a set of washers of different thicknesses? Is there a torque spec on the through-bolt?

New upper link bolts with .5mm shims, no torque specs on the bolts.
Lower link stays the same, only change is the new through bolt.  Also no torque specs.
Haven't taken any measurements yet but I'm hoping that doesn't need any washers with that new bottom bolt.

Some more angles of what is included.

That does not have the thru axle bottom pivot, but does appear to have the updated top links and a different looking upper link.

I quite like the changes to the front triangle on this one and the threaded bb. The geo on this is not exactly like the hightower like they stated the AM831 is , but it is pretty damn close.

It looks like they did their own take on it.  Different shock mounting size, brake mount size, head tube doesn't angle down, threaded bb, sizes are different at quick glance.  They have the shock silhouette with the can at the back, I wonder if this one can fit a coil or Float X2?

Definitely looks like it could be a more refined version, and they got rid of that top tube kink, nice. But to expensive for a chiner..

True, an alloy frame from a few brands are about the same price when you add a shock.  If you do a lot of tech climbing and are considering carbon for weight savings $1000 seems to be the new mold pricing when shipped.

Looks like they got rid of the weird pyramid thing on the seat tube as well.
