Looking for some carbon wheels, 50-60mm deep, 1400-1450 20/24 is ideal, bitex novatech. choosing these over dt swiss for weight. also would like them to be sub $650. what are my options? ican and yoeleo are a bit expensive, dengfu heavy, elite wheels expensive. farsports too heavy/expensive. anyone got any input on which wheels would suit me best?

The FarSports Gravel wheels almost perfectly fit your criteria with the following exceptions, they are 24/24 hole (but still within your weight requirement) and are around $120 USD over budget, with the Novatec build being $770, and the Bitex build being $790.

I have a set of the 50mm Gravel rims w/ Bitex hubs and they weigh 1450g, have done around 4,000km on them so far in both wet and dry conditions and they're absolutely solid wheels. I haven't had a single issue with them.

My recommendation would be to try and save the extra money if possible and go for these.

Thanks!

I wonder why farsports has a gravel line. Only difference is wider internals.

Also, farsports.com is redone, wheelsfar is original, idk what theyre up to :P

Yeah it's called their Gravel rim but it's actually lighter than their Kaze and Feder rims. You're also right on the width, both the internal and external widths of the gravel are wider than their road rims, the gravel rim gives a perfect tyre profile if you're running 28c tyres.

The Gravel rims, available here: https://www.wheelsfar.com/gravel-wheelset-built-with-bitex-straight-pull-disc-hub-p0059.html

They're either 24mm wide internal for Hooked or 25mm wide internal for Hookless.

If you're looking for 21mm wide then the Farsports Kaze rims in 28mm ext. width have an internal width of 21mm. https://www.wheelsfar.com/kaze-disc-28mmwide-bitex-312-built-tubeless-wheel-set-p0122.html

I like the specs on those farsport wheel sets or the ican.

I have a rim brake set from fitlite that are 1310g for 50mm and bitex 20-24.  They are 26 19mm inner.  They have a disc brake version. Im just offering these as a set to compare. They list the dt35 at 1490g and they say the novatec 411 are 30g lighter.

I m late to the party, but i've bought 2 wheelsets from Farsports, and i liaise by email directly. You tell them what you want, they quote you. For 650usd, you can get Sapim CX ray spokes, nice tubeless ready rims and light Novatec hubs from them. I wouldn't look at their website too much, they're trying to sell more expensive stuff that virtually nobody needs (ceramic non sense, untested carbon spokes, DT swiss hubs and so on).

I can recommend this seller: https://de.aliexpress.com/store/2882125?spm=a2g0o.detail.100005.3.33f91ab87sjsla

They're trustworthy and offer a lot of customization options. I bought a 60mm deep tubular wheelset for rim brakes and upgraded to T800 carbon and a grooved braking surface. I paid around 480-500 EUR (which is identical to USD nowadays) including tax free shipping. The wheels hold up great, are very durable and crazy light at slightly above 1300g (being tubulars).

They don't offer the latest and greatest in rim profiles. The widest clincher rims they got are 26-27mm with 18-19mm internal.
If they offer upgraded designs at some point, I'll buy a set of clinchers there as well.

Also: If you choose the most basic specs, Light Bicycle should be able to build you a set for less than 650 USD surely?

I too, would go Farsports over ICAN if only because I suspect ICAN simply sources wheels externally just to sell along their frames.   Whereas Farsports specializes in wheel manufacturing
