Yishun R068D
« on: May 23, 2022, 09:29:26 AM »
Looking for the next bike build, and this crossed my eye, fits my geometry in a 58. Anyone know what this is meant to be a replica/pay homage to? It looks a hell of a lot like a venge but the geometry doesnt quite equal it.

I really like the look of that frame. The geometry however is anything but race-focused like the Venge LoL

The R068-D looks great!

Looks like the R096-D uses a traditional circular seat post clamp and still looks aero. Love it. Basically what I'm looking for, to eliminate possible seat post slipping issues.
Wondering if Yishun'll sell to individuals?

I wouldn't say it's not  racy geo.  Depends on your measurements.  Venge is relatively neutral.  If you've got a long upper body it's definitely not ideal though.

Yishun are LightCarbon AFAIK.  So unless these are business only models, you should be able to order them.

But it's possible they may be B2B only.

Also why dont you look at the 086? It appears to be the same or similar mold to the TopCarbon 086, but with different forks and seatpost.  This is very low and fairly long in larger sizes. 152mm delta between stack and reach in the 56.

P.S. The 068 also looks the same between LC/Yishun and TC.

its similar to the 086 and my issue is geometry, i need 400+ reach and 600+ stack without including spacers, handlebars etc. im 6'7. the yishun bike actually fits my geometry very very well, very comparable to the dengfu r12.

Hey, all. I know this is a dead thread, but since I am thinking about purchasing the R096-D, thought I would update here, there's a typo on the geometry table for the Size 550 frame.  The stack should be listed at 576, not 557.  I've also noted that for Yishun and I think LightCarbon, as well, their "Endurance" frames are more  "lightweight/all-around" geometry, and the ones labeled lightweight are much more upright/endurance oriented.  Thought I'd share since the cognitive dissonance that caused almost made me not consider them!

I've attached a couple screen shots showing the error and corrected geometry if anyone is interested.

I contacted Yishun couple of days ago regarding their R068D. B2C is available.

R086-D-54cm frame, it is USD610
included with frame/fork/seat post/clamp/integrated handlebar/headset/front and rear skewers/stopwatch holder.
XDB delivery cost USD90 from China to USA
Paypal payment fee is 5%
Total amount is USD735

Sadly this is will most likely be my next (and final) frame to test/review for cheap Chinese road frames. Reviewing affordable frames is fun of course, but I've grown tired of the compromises to my bike fit. I'm very particular  :'( Super long reach, low stack. This is a personal issue and no fault of any particular brand. It's probably not profitable for them. I'm just surprised more people have not had similar fit issues regardless of how they plan to use their bike.

My current Allez Sprint size 56 has a reach of 398mm. I just replaced my 130mm stem (slammed) for a 140 and it just "feels right". Also my Winspace T1500 size large has a reach of 393mm and the supplied 400/125 integrated cockpit (also slammed) has an effective stem length of about 145mm. Again it just "feel right".

The Yishun R068D has some visual cues to the current DARE VSRu aero frame which debuted at The Tour few weeks ago. Similar-ish geometry too. A size 54 Yishun R068D has a reach of 402 and a stack of 549. For me this is as about perfect as it gets. Plus LightCarbon / Yishun has been highly regarded here so I'm hoping this frame will actually become a permanent staple in my rotation.

Confusingly, there is a R068-D and a R086-D model - buyer beware. (I believe you are referring to the 86-D model throughout.)

And agreed, it's difficult to find Chinese frame geometries that fall outside the Bell curve; I'm guessing economies of scale come into play here for the manufacturers.

Communicating with Melinda regarding this frameset, it's available from their Germany warehouse/hub, so it is 669€. + 50 for shipping + paypal fees. The Hygge Model S is roughly 110€ cheaper and comes with a nice paintjob, but I'm leaning towards build quality a d geometry of Yishun

Have you already received the frame? If so, how do you like it? Thanks!

Not yet mate. Still another month to go I think!

Got pretty much everything ready to go now, just waiting on the frame and a few other little bits I've got on order.

i'm also interested in yishun R096-D frame.
in size 58 is really close to the geometry that i'm looking for.
Anyone has additional information about that frame, in particular pictures of the full bike.

thanks

R096 or R068?
It’s so clearly a LARP of an aero bike.
