I also have some smaller updates from mine.
My bottom bracket broke. It simply got stuck within itself not being able to move the bearing (I guess not enough or too much load on the SRAM dub BB) and have since changed it.
Due to using the "removable" retaining compound Loctite, it was a breeze to change. I feared that I have to use extensive force or damage the frame. It was a strong / concentrated hit with a bearing removal tool and very simple.
I have since moved to lighter wheels (xr1501 non boost using adapters) which makes a big difference how nimble it feels.
Still very happy so far

I did have the same concerns regarding the removal of the BB but went super smooth as well

Seems like a lot of folks racing with the M06 frame.  Curious if this frame is also a good choice for recreational trail riding. Nothing radical, I will keep my full suspension bike for that, but a good choice for long assents and flowing descents which are typical of where I ride.

Was thinking of using a Shimano XT M8100 complete group set (30T, 170mm cranks)...will that work with this frame.

Thanks in advance.

I love mine for sure! Now that I upgraded the fork to sid SL the level of comfort on rough trails is really good, the elite one seat post seems to also offer some level of compliance. Regarding your set up, I feel like 30-52 is really to climb walls, not sure on the use case but then again, I live in Houston.
The only thing to fault it with: 6mm offset chainring and the BB92…

Yea, getting old and live in the NW and some of the climbs are at my limit.  Can you elaborate on the 6mm offset? Does this mean that the standard crankset that comes with XT-M8100 groupset won't work?

Thanks

This frame has a 55mm chainline so you need a 0mm offset (sorry not 6, I got confused). At least that’s what I did

For shimano and 55mm chainline you will need a 8120 xt crankset (not the usual 8100, boost crank), the 0 offset chainring is for sram boost cranks

Regarding your comment on racing.
Due to the more modern geometry than a lot of traditional xc hardtails (67 degree head tube angle) you will definitely have a better time on even harder trails (S2 and S3).
I have paired it with a 120mm SID to make it more down country oriented, but it will always be a hardtail and not nice to your hands and forearms.

Ok, 55mm chain line.

I can get a great deal on XT-M8100 group set right now with 52mm chain line so would love to be able to use the M8100 crank.   Can I get 3mm spacers to move the chainring out slightly or is it not so simple? How big a deal is having the chain perfect for a recreational rider?

If am’ yoj want to run is 30T you may be ok with that crankset. I can’t remember what I originally had on the bike but it was super tight clearance between chainring and frame. The answer to what I had is probably at the beginning of this thread

Considering that most of the time I am pedaling hard is when I am going uphill in the larger Cogs (51,45), and hardly ever use the smaller Cogs then having the chain line 3mm closer in might actually be better in my situation as it moves the chainline closer to the larger cogs. Assuming there there is sufficient clearance for the front chainring, which with a 30T front I would hope there is...

Does that make sense or do I not understand what chainline is all about.

First let me thank the members of the forum for all the help.

Based on the input I have gotten I am getting ready to order 2 SP-M06 frames (one for me and one for my wife) size S and Medium. I initially was leaning toward the SP-M016 frame as it seemed like a more all mountain geometry, but it has been discontinued and the M06 frame seems versatile and getting good reviews.

Components I am thinking of using. Let me know if any of these don't seem compatible or bad choice

SP-M06 Frame
Shimano XT-M8100 1x12 group set
RockShox Sid Select RL TwistLoc Forks - 29" x 120mm
Chainset: Shimano XT M8100 -  30T / 170mm
Bottom Bracket: Shimano MT800 Press-fit
Cassette: Shimano XT M8100 10/51T - 12 speed
Chain: Shimano XT M8100 - 12 Speed - 114 Links
Rear Derailleur: Shimano XT M8100 - 12 Speed
Gear Lever: Shimano XT M8100 I-Spec EV mount
Disc Brakes: Shimano XT M8100 centrelock front (850mm) & rear (1600mm)
MT800 Rotors  180mm Front - 160mm Rear
Yuan AN 29er 36mm width 24mm depth Asymmetric rims M14 hub (Thanks Ludo)
Syncros Fraser IC SL 740mmx70mm handlebar (Thanks Ludo)
Dropper post, saddle, pedals : TBD

I am not sure if they have fixed the BB cup issue. Mine were oversized but got quickly sorted with some loctite glue. I now put a screw on BB92 (where the 2 half screw together, I think it’s a good solution for this frame

Thanks, but I don't get what you mean? How does a screw solve the problem of oversized opening in the frame for press fit BB92?
