H-works M330 MTB hubs
« on: April 10, 2024, 05:37:22 AM »
Hi everybody,

So when putting together my bike a few months ago I shied away from building my own wheels and I have some regrets about it…
Now seriously considering giving it a go. As I was researching hub options, I watch hambini review of the H-works hubs and kind of settle on these. They are not available on Ali but I contacted them direct and they are open to sell direct landed cost to Houston is $200

A couple of questions:
Anyone has them, any feedback?
Anyone in US or in France (I travel Back and forth a lot) interested in a group buy if I can get volume discount?

I came by these by accident a while ago. Because I had been eyeing the H-works hubs for a while, the construction looked familiar... It looks like these are the M330 hubs, but nowhere is the brand H-works to be found...

Sure looks like it!
they state M310 in the description which is the road hub but looks like the M330 and the weight matches for the front hub at 107g, rear is 15g lighter that H-works quoted weight at 210 vs 225.

Edit: actually the brand  under description is "guster M330"

Isn't DT-Swiss 350 an option if you are looking to spend this kind of money?

Not at the price you linked. at $200, it may be possible to find, but based on Hambini review, you're not getting a superior product really, at least not from production quality/engineering point of view seemingly

Yes, it will of course depend on the price. But with DT-swiss you have warranty and easy access to spare parts...
So if the price is close, I would go for DT-swiss.

You’re not wrong, but where is the fun in taking the path most traveled? :)

I have these hubs on my MT30 wheelset from ninevelo.
I've only ridden them for about 150km, but they feel really well made. I initially had a problem with the freehub (Microspline), where the cassette went out of line when torqued down, as seen in video below. Somehow the cassette could sit longer down on the spline, on one side, never seen this before, probably a machining issue.

I have these with 54 tooth rachet.

Ninevelo sent me a new freehub in 4 days, and that fixed the problem.
Let me know if you want any more info on these hubs. BTW they are S&S bearings

I should also note that I've tried fitting my star rachet from of one my dt swiss 240 rachet exp hub, and they actually fit these mt330 hubs. So spares can be bought, from dt swiss
